Decaf Strawberry from Adagio Teas

Decaf Strawberry

Black Fruit Blend by Adagio Teas

Black tea from Ceylon, decaffeinated using a superior CO-2 process. The latter is all natural and gentle, allowing tea leaves retain their delicate shape and flavor. Flavored with summer strawberries. Makes a tasty cup of tea, both hot and iced.

I had forgotten that this was in the cabinet!!! I needed something to warm me up, and this is doing the trick. (I know it’s not as cold here in Florida as it is in some other places, but I am not used to this weather!)

Nice summery strawberries and black tea. What’s not to like?

A decaf version of one of my favorite Adagio teas? Yes, please. I didn’t notice any significant difference between the pot I made this evening (in the TriniTEA, which I’ve just recently cleaned up and put out for use now that I’ve replaced the broken warming pot… yay!) and every cup I’ve made of the non-decaf version.

This is a GREAT fruit tea. It smells like real strawberries, tastes like a delicious tea with just the right amount of strawberry goodness and zero acidity. Don’t steep it too long or you’ll lose that perfect strawberry flavor (I think I’ll actually do 3 minutes next time… tonight pot was flirting with a tiny edge of bitterness and I like it light), and this is also a great tea to put over ice because of its clean Ceylon base. This is a tea that I recommend often and also give as a gift. :)

This was my evening cup last night. This one is always good with a little sweetener. Definitely one of my favorite decaf varieties.

I had this tea last night. I can really see the progression in my tastes as I could definitely taste something off in this tea. There are only a few decaf blacks that taste good to me, now. I am purging several from my cupboard. If it is still in my cupboard, it is not a bad choice in my book.

Another evening cuppa? Yes, I could not resist. This is another of my reliable evening teas. Slightly sweet. Always good.

This is a good tea, but steeped a bit weirdly. After 3 minutes, when I looked in the cup, all the tea was settled in the bottom and water sat on top, filling 2/3 of the cup. With a stir and a few extra seconds of steeping, it looked like a normal cup of tea.

I’m enjoying it, but after reading the other tasting notes, I want to take it home and try it with soy milk and sugar!

Inspired by the “where is everyone” discussion post, I made a glass of this iced. It’s really good that way! I sweetened it, southern style, so it reminded me a bit of strawberry candy. I also had never really thought of making iced tea by the glass (we do it by the pitcher in my house), so I’m glad the post made me consider that. Now I’ll try a bunch of iced teas in the near future!!

I made a cup of this early in the afternoon, got pulled out of the office, and when I got back it might as well have been a mug of iced strawberry tea. Not what I was hoping for, but surprisingly good! I might actually begin brewing this for a cool beverage once we get warmer weather again.

And this is the last cup of this sample.

I’m working on clearing my samples as fast as I can… it’s a major project!!

A decent cup for the afternoon! Had thought it’d be a really productive one, but so far I’ve not made as much progress as I’d hoped.

Okay, that last steep wasn’t weird, I’m just not all that much of a fan of this tea. It’s a bit more bitter than I would have expected. Though, I really do like the strawberry.

I didn’t think I liked fruity teas (with the exception of lemon and honey during a cold) but this tea has converted me. It smells strong, like strawberry candy. So I expected an equally artificial taste. Instead, it tastes like a fresh strawberry. This tea is divine. The black tea base isn’t anything special, in fact, it’s kind of twiggy. But I’ve been looking for a decaffeinated tea that tastes good and this is it. It tastes nice plain, but adding milk and a little bit of sugar sends it into an over the top heavenly crazy place. I’ll be going back for this one again and again. I made a huge Adagio order and this is the only tea that I keep repeating.

Mixed this 50-50 with Cream black tea from Adagio. Tasted like strawberries and cream, or maybe peaches and cream—but definitely delicious!

I drink this with agave nectar and cream. A lovely before bedtime treat.
