Assam Satrupa FTGFOP1

Black Tea by Element Tea

Estate-grown Assams grow at a higher altitude, giving them a depth of flavor suitable for drinking anytime of day. Maltier than other types of tea, the Assam’s strong and weighty flavor goes well with the addition of lemon, milk, or sugar. (FTGFOP1 stands for “Finest Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe – Grade 1”)

Brew Time: 4 minutes

Ingredients: Black Tea From Satrupa Estate

A wonderful Assam – just what I needed today. It has a remarkable caramel-y sweetness to it. Very smooth, malty and rich. Biscuit-y, toothsome quality. Delicious neat, also nice with milk and honey. The creaminess of the milk really enhances the malty tones quite nicely.

Dry – this had an interesting yet Unidentifiable aroma to it tied in with an lovely assam aroma. It has a gorgeous color to it…a medium brown with an orange tint to it. The post infusion aroma is a slightly chewy assam. The taste is AMAZING! It’s like a sweeter assam but it also has a smidge of bitterness to it but it’s the bitterness one would crave and not one that would be ‘in the way’ or ‘interrupting’ the flavor…it contributes to it. It has a nice even slipperiness to it, too…very nice! I really like this one!

SIPDOWN and Back logging – this will be missed…see previous notes…

LOVE :) Backlogging…

2nd infusion…
More of a stronger black tea taste and a bit peppery – still very good! :)

“This is a fairly strong tasting tea, which was a bit surprising for an Assam like this. Not complaining. Quite the contrary. Hubby says…” more here: http://lyt-tea-reviews.blogspot.com/2011/03/review-element-teas-assam-satrupa-tea.html
