From Lotus Island

Lotus Island Tea Farms represents tea farmers who embrace the highest standards of organic farming. Our teas are ICHIBAN CHA, or first pick, since our farmers harvest their tea only once a year, greatly enhancing the quality and flavor of our teas. Only the top leaves are harvested, packed into airtight bags, and shipped to us directly. Take a moment to enjoy the pungent aroma and fresh dark green hue when you open a bag of our green tea. The leaves of our premium sencha are picked a few weeks earlier than most green teas, giving it a richer flavor with added nutrition. Makes up to 70 cups per bag.

I bought this tea on a whim while shopping one day, and don’t regret it! This flavorful sencha is cheap, organic, delicious, and lasts forever. I infuse each serving up to three times without a loss of flavor. The leaves before steeping are a pleasant silky texture, and the aroma is verdant and warm. For those who love “grassy” teas, this tea will satisfy. I bought it in Colorado where the company distributes, so I am unsure if it appears in stores elsewhere. But you can order it from their website I’m sure – www.lotusisland.com
