This sounded so interesting that I simply had to try it even though I’m not generally a fan of Green Tea ..

It’s a wonderful looking mix with a unique savoury aroma and taste .. Very vegetal, and dare I say even a little ‘fishy’ ? The second steep was my preferred, with more pronounced nuttiness .. But again, Green really isn’t my thing and though some do grow on me this one hasn’t ..

Also, unless you use a Very Fine strainer (I’ve tried a few but none avoided this) you will end up with dust at the bottom of your cup ..

This is one of my favorite teas. I prefer to drink this tea first thing in the morning, the nutty undertones and the smell of freshly popped popcorn always make me hungry. I usually brew a whole pot which leads to numerous potty breaks but it’s so worth it!

(lends well to multiple infusions) Green tea for green tea haters! Its deliciously nutty and savoury, tastes like popcorn with a delicate green tea undertone. A cup (or pot) of this is a perfect afternoon snack alternative. Mmmhmm!

I love this tea, but I think it’s an acquired taste. It’s nutty and strong, but if you leave it too long it gets very bitter. I brew mine on the short side, and use it for multiple steepings. It’s a great tea to wake up with, and I love watching the rice puff up as it steeps.

A meal within itself. Always a good refreshing tea, especially in late winter to early spring. I’ve had a few genmaicha now and this one is just as good as any of them. I find the difference being the balance between green tea taste and rice. This one learns toward the nutty rice taste.
