Celebrating my victory over the evil rootkit that has plaqued my computer and me for the last week. That was the nastiest one I have ever dealt with. I couldn’t Google and it locked me out of my Google accounts on this computer. Finally got it with ComboFix. Go me!

This is usually my evening tea. Thought I would mellow today and lay off the weekend Mtn Dew. This really is pretty good for a bagged tea and a decaf at that. Smells like tea and nice even taste. Strong, unsweetened and icy cold. Oh yeah.

My wife came through surgery with flying colors. Getting anethesia out of her system is a different story. Been a long afternoon. They had NO tea in the waiting room. None. Zero. Nada. Oh, the pain. Turns out they had a pitcher of ice tea out at the nurse’s station. Except I didn’t know it until too late. sigh. So I came home and grabbed this one. Its tea. Its cold.

Yep, its decaf and its a tea bag. I still like it. This morning I grabbed a bag and poked it into a glass bottle, filled with water, put the lid on and put it in the fridge. This afternoon the result was pretty tasty. Cold brewed this doesn’t taste a lot different than brewed. Maybe a little mellower. Mostly this just took no effort to prepare. Yeah, lazy me.

My interview went ok Friday but I won’t get the job. I do not have 3D drafting experience. The earliest I can take a class for this is August. I was afraid I was going to not feel well during the interview but I felt great, maybe adrenaline kicked in or something. Anyway after playing at church this morning I came home and hit the couch. After a 5 minute power nap I woke up and the crud hit me hard. I feel like %^&*#! Chased Advil with multiple Mtn Dews. Had to run to the funeral home for a church friend. Came home and plopped on the couch again, where I intend to stay. Now I am in need of iced tea. This was made. It is cold. Decaf is probably a good thing at this point. Hope tomorrow brings dry warmer weather and the end of crud.

Drinking this one iced trying to stay cool and not get too hopped up on caffeine today. I’ll be drinking decaf Lipton iced this evening with mom and dad. I’ll do my best to pretend its this.

Not even close to what I wanted but it was cold. My home is 80 degrees today as it was yesterday. The cooling guy just left – a tripped relay and low on coolant. Kinda figures, it is 20 years old. Not having a job, I was holding my breath and praying it would not be the compressor. I am on oxygen and can’t tolerate humidity. I have to have A/C. So doing my happy dance and saying some praises. Once again an example that sometimes the blessing is in the sustaining through the drought. When it gets back down to 72 in here I am having real tea, and then wait for the storms to roll through tonight.

I think I figured out why my taster has been off. I thought it was because I burned my tongue on too hot of a cup. This morning I realized I recently re-started using generic Flonase for allergies. I don’t remember it dulling my senses before. Hope it passes soon. For now this was cold and easy. For bagged decaf it ain’t too shabby.

Chugging this one chilled while reading Steepster.

Bagged tea and it is actually pretty good. I drink it chilled. It has a nice aroma and the taste is stout without being bitter. Not a bad evening tea I think.

Late at night, at Meijer. The girlfriend and I were desparate for some black tea with milk, but it was too late to brew up a regular cup of looseleaf at home and we were out of decaf. We hesitantly picked up this, Tetley’s decaf British Blend.

It turned out to be very nice! I expected something flavorless or bitter, but this is malty, bready, cozy, and very enjoyable. We always took it with milk, so this may not apply if you take it without, but I’d definitely buy it again if I’m out of decaf.

This is my evening tea. I drink it every night without fail. If I’m going out of town or commuting, I bring both the leaded and unleaded versions in a tin. I take my tea strong and with milk, so I’m often using multiple pouches and I go through a box rather quickly. I buy in bulk so a case of six boxes of 40 pouches per box cost me $22.00. Pretty good price!

Not half bad, for a decaf tea. I’ve had this at night before, and it does seem to have less caffeine than the ‘regular’ caffeinated black teas. It has a classically mossy smell when you first get the bag wet with boiling water from the kettle, and it holds up well with creamer and sweetener, or is just fine black. Wouldn’t ever be my first choice during the day, but at night as I’m getting ready for bed, or even if I wake up shortly after dozing off, it’s decent. On the comparison scale of teas I have tried, I would actually rate this higher than either the fully-caffeinated Stash or Bigelow English Breakfast teas, but not as high as most of the others with caffeine. (In other words, given a choice between one of these or a cup of the Bigelow, I’d take the Tetley every time even without the caffeine.) My one complaint is that the amount of tea inside the “perf flo” bag doesn’t seem to be substantial enough, so I often use two or even three bags for a mug of tea… which means a box of 40 bags doesn’t last very long. Luckily, my local Kroger sells that box for about $3.50.
