Earl Grey Russian

Black Tea by The Tea Table

Added citrus and a hint of spice sweeten and lighten this Earl Grey, making it perfect for afternoons or evenings. A black tea blend with bergamot (of course) and cornflowers, lemon peel, clover, orange peel, cinnamon pieces, calendula petals. Use 1 tsp. per cup and steep 3 minutes in freshly boiled water.

Haven’t had much tea this weekend… I was away so when I got back I decided that I wanted to try a new tea and this was it! Upon opening the package it smelled like Christmas to me. I remember one time making an ornament that was an orange and had little cloves stuck in it and then dusted with cinnamon, everyone brought in a different citrus fruit and the room smelled just like this, lots of citrus and cloves yum!

The first sip of this surprised me, I was not sure if I would like this because it sounded kind of boring… nothing to out there. But wow I really liked it, it was very sweet with hints of citrus and I can taste the bergamot as well. This is really good… I I sipped it down pretty quick. When this has cooled it all most tastes like thinned out citrus honey… it is that sweet! I think that this just might be on my re-buy list! Yummy!

Really quite sweet. The bergamot is there, but the orange and clove are what really come through for me. Probably the least “Earl Grey” of any Earl Grey spin offs I’ve seen. A good, enjoyable tea, but nothing I feel the need rush out and force people to drink.

Too much grapefruit, not enough bergamot, ok, but I won’t buy it again
