Camomile & Apple

Fruit Herbal Blend by Twinings

“Herbal Tea” product line sold in Canada (current as of Dec 2011). Note that box art provided is out of date (this is not, at present, part of the “Unwinding” product line). Note also that this is not Spiced Apple and while it shares a common ingredient, it is not the same titled product as the Egyptian Camomile & Apple that is sold in other markets (USA?).

Description:

A calming herbal tea with Egyptian camomile and the crisp flavour of tree-ripened apples. Naturally caffeine free.

Create a calming moment with Twinings Camomile & Apple Herbal Tea. Expertly blended with Egyptian camomile blossoms and the crisp flavour of tree-ripened apples, this herbal tea is sure to comfort you with its fresh fruity taste and slightly sweet aroma.

Brew:

Pour freshly boiled water over tea bag and allow to brew for 3-5 minutes depending on desired strength.

My most favourite herbal tea. It has a comforting aroma because of the warm apples and maintains the lovely bright and crisp flavour of the Camomile. I wouldn’t define it as “fruity”- then again when I think fruity I think berries and citrus not apples.

I love that a cup of this tea just spills with healthiness and I find that these two flavour’s are really complimentary to one another. The apple provides a different kind of sweetness to the Camomile’s already sweet undertones and helps to bring it forward a little further.

I drink mine with about two tea spoons of honey which boosts both the flavour and the medicinal worth of this tea. I’ve also added a tea spoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice which transformed the taste and smell beautifully.

Twinings Camomile and Apple has ruined plain old Camomile tea for me! I dare you to try it :D

I consider this my perfect ideal of what camomile should taste like. The apple softens the sour-ish notes that can accompany camomile. Contrary to Twinings’ description, however, the tea is not fruity. The apple is subtle and works very, very well. Really delicious. Make sure to try this instead of your default camomile.
