185 Tasting Notes
This is very likely the best tasting earl grey tea I’ve ever had, or at least a top 5. I love the notes of vanilla that come through, there’s such a delightful sweetness that complements the bergamot without being overpowering. Sadly today I’m finishing the last of this tea, but it’s definitely going on my list to buy more the next time I’m at Adagio. LOVE this tea and everything about it!
Flavors: Bergamot, Cream, Orange, Vanilla
I’m thrilled that it finally feels like fall outside after a brutally hot start to October. The windows are open, the crisp cool air of autumn is permeating the house, I lit a candle, and as I’m working on troubleshooting SQL issues, I decide to have the rest of this lovely blend. I’m fortunate to live within driving distance of an Adagio Teas store, and last time I was there I picked up a variety pack of autumn-inspired teas. This was one of the four blends, and likely my favorite of the bunch.
I love everything about this tea. It is the quintessential blend of fall flavors that all work so well together and romanticize the entire experience. I adore the creme brulee coming through without being too strong, leaving room for the apple and cinnamon to shine. The mouthfeel is malty and smooth. It is fall in a cup, and I couldn’t really ask for anything more. Will definitely buy more of this next time I’m at Adagio.
Flavors: Apple, Autumn Leaf Pile, Burnt Sugar, Cinnamon, Marigold, Rosehip
Wow, I knew the moment I opened this bag that I would enjoy this tea, and I was not mistaken! I love basically all earl grey teas, and I was initially skeptical that this one would taste too artificial. However, the notes of vanilla and citrus are most pleasant and taste as natural as can be. I also enjoyed that there is a nice strong presence of bergamot here – though that could be because I used a tablespoon of tea instead of the recommended teaspoon per cup. In all, this was extremely enjoyable and I look forward to having more of this tea.

Preparation
I got this months ago from a local M&P and I’m finally finishing this off today. The thing I appreciate the most about this tea is the company’s clear note on the box: “Our teabags are made from non-GMO sugarcane and are commercially compostable. No microplastics to see here.” This is a refreshing change from a lot of other brands where I have to search high and low on their website to determine the composition of their sachets, and even then there isn’t always a clear disclosure available.
Flavor-wise, this tea is merely okay. I wish I tasted more flavors that gave that “winter chai” feeling. I do get a bit of the spices, but everything feels rather muted and covered by the black tea itself. There is a malty mouthfeel that I enjoy, but it leaves much to be desired. Perhaps a peppercorn and a hint of citrus would have been a welcome addition. Still, I enjoyed this tea.
Flavors: Cardamom, Spices
This is one of the best teas I’ve had in a long time, and has potentially opened me up to a world of new experiences from this company. Looking through their website, they seem lovely: lots of flavors, plenty of organic and loose-leaf options, and all the ones I spot-checked didn’t have the dreaded “natural flavors” ingredient. A bit on the pricey side, but as I’m becoming more of a tea snob, it seems worth it.
This particular flavor was wonderful. Simple yet refreshing and soothing. The jasmine flavor is strong and comes across super well. I don’t know, something about this tea just feels so clean and smooth and relaxing.
I’m definitely going to be exploring other flavors from this brand and hopefully they’re as good as this one.
Flavors: Floral, Jasmine
Love this tea! So refreshing and fruity, it is perfect for a spring or summer day and just makes me feel so happy every time I drink it. I can taste a lot of the flavors – mango, coconut, pineapple – though, interestingly, no watermelon. I’ve only had this hot so far, but I can absolutely see this working really well as an iced tea. I plan to make this one a staple in my pantry, though preferably in loose-leaf if I can find it.
Flavors: Coconut, Fruity, Mango, Pineapple
Sipdown. I didn’t get many flavors coming through on this one, which was rather disappointing because on paper it seems lovely. I struggled to taste any chocolate or cinnamon, but I will say the peppercorns and chili peppers were evident. Definitely not my favorite flavor by Fraser.
Flavors: Pepper, Peppercorn, Spicy
Here we are, trying the 3rd Day of Christmas tea in my advent calendar. At this rate, I might finish all 12 by the time Christmas actually rolls around.
Positives: Pleasant bergamot aromas combine nicely with the fruit and vanilla. Everything works together well, but it does bring me to the Negatives: Too artificial. Even though it says there are “natural” flavors, the overall combination still feels kind of fake and forced.
There’s something of an assam aftertaste as well, which is a bit odd. Altogether, I enjoyed this tea, but I very much wish it tasted more natural.
Flavors: Artificial, Bergamot, Citrus, Fruity, Vanilla
