16018 Tasting Notes
This is a decent keemun. While it’s not my favourite of those that I’ve tried I do like the way that this one tastes. There’s a heartiness to it that is really nice. I don’t get the plum but it is a nice mellow tea. It will be a good morning tea to have :)
Thank you Zen Tea for your samples! I’m glad I got to try this one!
My boss had to go to China for business and brought back a lovely ceramic jar full of tea. Sadly we have no idea what it is. It’s similar to Laoshan Black, in that it has a malty chocolatey taste. There’s another taste there as well though, that I can’t put my finger on. I wish i knew what this was but it’s tasty. And since almost no one at work drinks tea like i do, it may end up in my home :)
If it’s from China, it’s likely it’s a Fujian Black, which is a tea that has a malty, chocolatey taste like you describe, as I suspect that the Laoshan teas are a little more difficult to acquire than are Fujian Blacks.
And yes, you do have an awesome boss!
Inspired by Azzrian’s post a few days ago, I’m trying to get to the last two samples of I have from Zen Tea. While it’s not my fault that they didn’t get here for 2 months, I still feel bad that I haven’t yet had a chance to finish off the reviews.
As soon as the water hit the tea I can smell the creaminess. Mmm this is really good. It’s smiliar to 52 teas strawberry zabaglione but different too. It’s more creamy than strawberry but delicious nonetheless. I’ll have to try this again sometime with a bit of milk :)
Starting off the morning’s hot teas with this one. While I managed to get some much needed sleep last night, I’m still not doing too hot this morning. I figured this might be a good way to kick off the “morning” and help get me to a point where I can get some things done today. I have errands to run and actual work things to take care of that really needs to happen this weekend. I’m just hoping i can manage to get going. If not, at least i have tea to keep me company today :)
Sip down….well more like a goodbye. Not sure how I drank as much of this as I did, but this was part of my pre holy crap my cupboard is exploding with tea times! Tried to cold brew this and see how it would turn out….yeah. Not that great. Thanks for the good times when I didn’t know better topsy turvy blend :)
Came home after a looooong day of testing and rewriting people’s terrible terrible English. Not that you’d be able to tell from most of my posts, but I write well, and part of my job is content management for what our clients see. They haven’t had anyone really paying attention to this stuff for a while and it’s appalling what we put in front of clients. Needless to say its my job to clean it up!
We hit the gym on the way home, which was nice cause I’ve been slacking but part way through my run I started feeling awful. So now I’m home with a splitting headache and sore legs. My tummy doesn’t feel well either so I suspect the stress is getting to me. On the plus side my dearest wonderful other half bought me some tea because I have to cut back for a bit because funds are tight AND made me dinner.
….and my tea order from Stacy arrived! In the 10 days! Of course now I REALLY do have too many teas…especially with the travelling tea box on its way. On the plus side ill get to send some of my teas off to other homes :)
Haha, yes, Sil, autocorrect is quite good at mangling your posts! :D
Also, I hope the stress reduces soon! I had a very unhappy tummy today too… could be stress-related for me as well given the abundance of upcoming deadlines, or it could be related to crappy sleep habits (which also relate to said deadlines… sigh.)
I haven’t updated yet. My boyfriend did and I don’t like the new maps application, so I’m holding off as long as possible.
Ha! I am so not surprised that you do what you do. I have done/do similar work and notice some similarities in our styles. =) Hope the stress lets up soon. =(
Kittenna, iOS6’s pros outweigh the cons. I agree that the new Maps application is atrocious, but maps.google.com in Mobile Safari works just fine. =) I use either that or the crowdsourced Waze (free) application. Have you tried either of those?
Nik – Hmm, perhaps I should just update then, if there are map alternatives (I have not tried either, but will!). My thing is that I actually use the map app as GPS quite a lot, as I have only lived here for 2 years and am still quite unfamiliar with the area, and didn’t want to be stuck with something crappy and useless! Thanks for the tips!
I totally understand, that’s why I suggest trying the browser version of Google Maps and the Waze application before you upgrade. Since you can’t downgrade iOS, definitely make sure you’re ready to lose the built-in Maps application before you make the jump. I thought to myself, meh, how bad can it be? (The answer is, “Really, really bad.”) So I’m glad there are alternatives.
