What a creative blend of flavors! The aroma and taste are what you would expect for a Carrot Cake Flavored ANYTHING :)
The Maple Brittle seems to enhance all of the other flavors. This is very sweet and I really don’t think any additional sweetener is required.
The Ginger, Cinnamon, Cloves aren’t prominent flavors but certainly contribute to the overall taste. The Walnut, Carrots, Raisins, Coconut, and Maple Brittle flavors are more in the fore-front. The Rooibos and Honeybush are well covered from their stereotypical taste for those who tend to shy away from it – they may want to give this one a whirl.
This is very aromatic and very flavorful! Very well done.
Not too sure about this one…I mean it’s alright and it ends find but I think there is a little too much Chicory in this for my tastes. I love the idea of it. The caramel is nice and I like the mate and rooibos mix. It smells like Caramel coffee. I think the only thing interrupting this one for me is the amount of chicory flavoring…
I had a cup of this Monday and forgot to log. Had another one this morning! It’s really special! The apple and pear are both noticeable but blend well together at the same time. This is a wonderful flavor combo for tulsi! LOVE that about it! The color is a little murky brown but the aroma and taste are really yummy! I would drink this one fairly often!
This is my favorite of Fusion’s mates, and luckily so considering I had a good feeling and ordered up six ounces of it. I can rarely resist pistachio anything, and the idea of this tea just seemed so weird and exciting that I couldn’t resist!
Though I had hoped for a profusion of pistachio flavor, it’s unsurprisingly a bit buried in a sea of lime and green mate. Not necessarily a bad thing, but good to know. It’s not very tart (yay!), more like the lime flavor that remains in your mouth after the initial shock of tartness has worn away. The brew smells pretty strongly of pistachios, though, which is interesting because you get pistachio on the nose as you go to take the drink and then in comes the green mate when you taste it.
Overall a good melding of all the flavors, but more importantly it has that elusive quality that keeps me coming back, wanting another cup. It’s very unique, like nothing else in my cupboard, good for any time of day but especially nice if you want caffeine in the morning without getting knocked out by a roastier brew. Highly recommended!
Preparation
Yum! Fusion does marvelous things with mates, and this is one of their best. The roasted flavor of the mate is still pretty strong, but over it there’s a flavorful haze of raspberry and chocolate, leaving behind a sort of cake-y aftertaste that I’m really into, like you just finished a chocolate cupcake with raspberry frosting. A delightful way to start the day!
Preparation
As I open this package – it smells like Florida in a cup! Awesome Grapefruit, Orange, Apple, Berry, Lemon, Tangerine mixture. After infusion…it still smells nice, tho, mostly orange, grapefruit, hibiscus.
It’s VERY red in color – between the beet root and hibiscus that doesn’t shock me.
Surprisingly this ISN’T tart – it has a semi-smooth finish considering everything it contains.
Thumbs up! Would be better cold but I’m enjoying it hot at the moment, too!
This is incredibly yummy! The raspberry takes a few sips to develop, but once it does, it lingers so nicely on the palate, like eating a fresh, ripe raspberry. YUM! The chocolate is rich and delicious. It is a full-flavored, well-rounded cup that is smooth, not bitter, and just plain WOW!
So good. Full-length review of this coming soon to the SororiTea Sisters blog!
I have been very impressed by the blends I’ve tasted from Fusion Tea Room thus far. This one is no exception. It is very rich and robust with lots of different flavors to appeal to the palate. One of those cups that will not only help you gain mental clarity from the caffeine but will get your mind thinking because it has so many delicious flavors… just the right thing for the first cup of the day.
Off first smell of the loose leaf it made me think of a raspberry popsicle. The smell was a bit harsh for the Shade Tree pallet, as I have never been able to handle strong fruity smells. The loose leaf was a bit crumpled like it had gotten wet. It possible was the saffron as I do not know anything about this ingredient. The blend had an interesting look, like there was fungi on there. This could have been due to how long I have had it as well.
On first taste, I was still weary of the smell but the taste was awesome. It was savory and smooth, with a bitter after taste which was awesome. The Mate had a significant presence which is key.
My conclusion on this blend is that the smell is overbearing for a traditional pallet. Once brewed it is very tasty, and iced or soda mate could be amazing. This blend may smell foul, but tastes great! Makes me want to make mate popsicles! Great Blend Fusion Tea Room!
Preparation
CRAZY Dark Purple Color! BUT…it DOES smell like Blueberry Muffins!!! Awesome fruity and bakey goodness! Taste-wise this is VERY tart but it’s blueberry-tart! Mostly Blueberry and Apple in primary flavors, not really muffin-esque but still creative and juicy and tasty!
YUM YUM YUM! This is the first ‘yogurt’ tea I have actually SEEN the Yogurt IN…it’s FUN! It’s blueberry and creamy and very much like what you would expect from a Blueberry Yogurt tisane. It’s sweet and fruity and creamy! Very tasty!
Once I opened the bag of this I could smell Caramel and Chocolate…more Caramel than Chocolate but the aroma was terrifically-awesome!
Once infused I could smell the chocolate more and the caramel a little less.
This is very sweet and I can taste both the caramel and the chocolate. This is a medium-flavored honeybush and very pleasing and very much a comfort tisane! YUM!
I received an awesome package from Fusion Tea today and this is the first one I am going to try. I’m just about finished with the infusion…
The post infusion liquid is much like a black tea…dark brown!
The aroma pre-infusion is wonderful! It was a combo of chocolate, raspberry, nuts, herbs, and a hint of floral. After infusing it smells like a Raspberry Chocolate Danish type aroma.
The taste is amazing! This may be my FAVORITE Yerba Mate YET!!!!
It’s creamy with sweet notes, chocolate notes, chewy additions, and delightful raspberry flavors (yet the raspberry isn’t overwhelming), as well as an interesting but pleasant aftertaste!
This is really wonderful!!! WOW!
I just made two cups of this in a tall glass, and added a generous dash of vanilla soymilk to top it off. This was an A+ decision, as now I’m getting a much cookie-r taste than just taking it straight. Good enough to bump the rating up a few points. Yum!
Preparation
I definitely get the gingersnap feel in this one – Fusion’s pretty good at capturing the essence of dessert-y items, the Chocolate Cake Honeybush, if not precisely the flavor. It’s best when it’s cooled down quite a bit, then the flavors really come together. I was iffy on this one at first but the more I sip it the more I like it.
Note that this is an incredibly sensitive tea for a rooibos – the instructions recommend 5-7 minutes but I find that five minutes is about the limit, otherwise the citrus fruits will overwhelm this into a sour cup of undrinkable horror. Watch that clock!
Preparation
Mmm, this is a good cup. That roasted mate flavor dominates, but it’s about the smoothest preparation I’ve had so far with this particular type of tea – not too sweet, not too woody, just an easy brew that wakes you up without getting in your face about it. The cinnamon and clove in the background lend this a savory dessert feel, like the spices in a spice cake, without really being sweet. A good replacement for coffee if you’re trying to kick the habit, a good yerba mate if you like it straightforward and tasty. I’m glad to have this in my cupboard.
