drank Linden Tea by Tadin
769 tasting notes

The dry bag had the typical sweet linden aroma. A pour of boiling water revealed nothing of substance. If anything, this served as a reminder to keep a high quality linden permanently stocked. I believe it and a strong peppermint to be my herbal panaceae.

I’ve never had a linden tea. I might have to go in search of one. Also, what is your favourite peppermint tea? I had a good one from ZenTeaLife in Vancouver, but they’ve stopped selling tea to focus on teaware.

If neither of you have tried it yet, QNTM Leaf Tea has a wonderful peppermint tea called Mindful Mint. It’s also the strongest peppermint I’ve had yet.

Leafhopper

Qntm Leaf is suspiciously silent about international shipping. Have any Canadians tried this company?

derk

Leafhopper, I’ve been searching for linden teas and all my favorites have disappeared. Maybe it’s high demand and/or supply chain issues due to COVID. Luckily my local herb shop has some loose in stock and I ordered a box of sachets from Harney. As far as peppermint, I like the stuff grown in the Pacific Northwest US since it’s usually organic, strong and clean. The brands of bags/sachets I love are (ranked): two leaves and a bud, Traditional Medicinals and Celestial Seasonings

Thanks for the rec, Shae :)

Leafhopper, I reached out to QNTM Leaf Tea and they do ship to Canada. Here is the response I received -

“Yes we ship to CN and they should be able to purchase directly through the site.”

Hope this helps!

Shae

derk, I look forward to hearing what you think if you decide to try it! I thought it was a really unique blend.

drank aloe vera and cactus by Tadin

If you like bitter tastes, then this is the tea for you. I did not like this tea in the least! It was unbearably bitter. I put 3tbsp of honey and it did absolutely no good. I really don’t have much to say about the taste other than ICK! I know that aloe and cactus have great properties for skin, hair and immune system, but I think I will stick to ingesting aloe through delicious jellies.

Yesterday I was under the weather, however towards 6pm or so I began to feel the dreaded scratch at the back of my throat. It progressed throughout the night and I knew that I was catching a cold. I took immediate action. I made this brand of peppermint tea for the first time. It was very strong in smell when I opened the box. It needed to steep longer than my usual brand but the taste was perfect. I fea little better but not like I would with my usual brand

The tag string is inside the bag. I’ve torn through a few bags trying to pull the tag out. Other than that, the tea is very good. I usually use 2 teabags and leave them in the cup while drinking.

This smells quite strongly of valerian when you open the packet, so be warned, although the taste comes through less strongly as it steeps and the other flavors come out. It’s minty/floral but not overpowering, with an earthy undertone from the valerian, and is slightly sweet all on its own. It’s quite a nice tasting mix, and I like that it has valerian and linden, both of which help me sleep.

As someone else mentioned this tea really needs two tea bags before you get any sort of flavor at all. And sweetener. But it’s not a bad tea. I don’t think it really boosted my brain activity as the label claims, which was disappointing.

Chamomile isn’t exactly my go-to, but every now and then it’s nice to have. Today’s cup turned out better than expected. It’s sweet and takes the honey so well. I don’t taste the honey flavor, but it really brings out the taste of the chamomile. Honeysuckle comes to mind.

I thought I had reviewed or tried this one before but I must not have logged it here. After opening the packet and seeing the teabag, I realized that I haven’t tried this one after all.

This chamomile smells and tastes strong. There’s not much else to say. It’s basically extra strength chamomile. I’m not sure I like it so much as others I’ve tried.

This tea is amazing! Smooth, almost minty flavor. Normally, I’m not a chamomile fan, but I’m definitely keeping stocked up on this one!

Its one of the most relaxing teas and you just gotta love it! Whenever feeling down or a little sick a teacup of manzanilla with a little of honey is everything i need to make my day. It has such a delicate flavor and it smells delicious, no doubt!

drank Orange Spice Green Tea by Tadin
1015 tasting notes

When my husband brought this home for me a few months ago, I was completely skeptical. Sometimes I wonder if he’ll ever understand that I like tea, but not every bagged tea is worth bringing home. Luckily, he did a pretty good job getting this one. It is surprisingly light, not bitter, and tasty. The addition of stevia, which I’m usually not a fan of, really helps this tea to be just right without anything else. I didn’t think I would drink it often, but I realized tonight that I’m down to only one more bag. I may just have to restock this – I love easy options after a long day dealing with 6 year-olds.

mrawlins2 gave me three bags to try. OMG, they are so full of orange goodness you would swear you were eating a mandarin orange!
Tart in a good way & spicey. Makes me think about fall spices…nutmeg comes to mind. None of the bitterness you sometimes get with green teas.
This one is a keeper:)

This is one of my favorite teas, but it is a very weak tea. I prefer to use two bags instead of the one recommended to get a little more flavor out of it. Even so, it’s a bit lighter and less harsh than a lot of cinnamon teas, in my experience.
