I love this gaiwan. First off, it’s adorable. Second, it is perfect for solo gongfu sessions. The amount of time and volume of water consumed by a session with my larger 100-120ml gaiwans meant that I rarely had opportunity to sit down and enjoy it. This size is great – I can fully steep out a tea without staying up all night.

Learning to brew gongfu style in my first gaiwan made me aware that not only is there an amazing array of teas out there to try, but each tea has the potential to have a great variety of flavors revealed by different preparations. Whenever possible, I like to brew each tea I try a few ways: gongfu, western, cold brewed/iced. I’ve enjoyed seeing how these treatments change any given tea.

I received this gaiwan earlier this week with my order and have already used it a few times. I agree! It seems well made and is very affordable.
It also is very easy to manipulate for myself of petite hand.
