47 Tasting Notes
I tried this tea as part of the limited edition “They’re Back” collection, which included three discontinued teas from past spring collections. With this collection, you got a small amount of each tea. You could, however, get larger quantities of each of the teas online only….which was too bad, because by the time I tried out the Honeydew Mate and discovered that I loved it, it had already sold out online! So, I could not pick up any more of this tea, which is a pity, because I really like it! Oh, the dangers of finding teas that you love only to have them discontinued! But it is a risk that you just have to take when you love tea!
Well, I tried the new herbal version of the Oprah Chai. As I am a huge fan of the original version, I was excited to try the new tea. I did not find it to taste very different from the original, caffeinated version. So, if you like the original, you will probably like this. If you dislike the original, you will probably dislike this as well. Since I do love the original Oprah Chai, I enjoyed my cup-to-go of the herbal version. I am quite puzzled, however, that they would release a version almost identical to the original. I suppose this will work better for cold steeping and will appeal to those seeking a caffeine-free option, but I, for one, will not be stocking up on the herbal version, as I already have plenty of the original Oprah Chai on hand. Not sure how to rate it. I love Oprah Chai, but do not see the need for a second, almost identical blend. But maybe that is just me?
I tried this tea recently as part of the “They’re Back” Collection, bringing back spring teas from years past. I hadn’t tried a banana tea before and was really intrigued with the idea. I didn’t know if it seemed like a good in theory but bad in practice or what. Well, I really, really like this tea. I haven’t tried it iced yet, but I love it hot. I never expected that I would like it as much as I do. After trying it, I bought up a bunch of it online, since it is only available for a limited time. Highly recommended! Grab some before it is gone!
This is one of my absolute favourite teas. I am a huge chai lover, so it is no surprise. It is so, so good as a latte. It is a pricey tea, but, fortunately, Teavana had multiple 50% off sales around Christmas and I definitely took advantage on that. I have a lot of stock on hand, in case it is discontinued on short notice. I do think that it is a tea that you either love or hate. I can definitely see how some people would not enjoy it. But I love it! It is my go-to tea and I dread the day that it is discontinued.
This is another great tea from David’s Tea. It was the first tea from David’s that I really loved. It is sweet, creamy, and nutty. Amazing as a latte. And all of my tea friends love it, when we usually have different tea preferences. It is an essential tea in both my home and work stock. Highly recommended!
This one of my absolute favourite teas! I was heartbroken when I went in to get a refill only to discover that the tea was no longer available. I searched and searched for a replacement from other companies but could not find anything comparable. Fortunately, I was able to pick up a bunch online when it went on clearance. I always drink it iced. It is amazing! I don’t think I have even tried in hot. Love this tea!
