Drinking some of this chai now. I love Blue Lotus chai … if you like spicy chai blends, you really should try their chai blends! I like it because it’s not presweetened, so I can control what type of sweetener and how much I add to my chai. I do like a little dollop of honey or a little bit of raw sugar in a chai to accent the spices but most chai mixes go way overboard with the sweetener. This doesn’t. And I can also control how strong the chai is, and decide how “latte” I want to go with it.
This is delightful. It’s the same as their traditional chai, but with the addition of star anise. The description says “subtle licorice notes”, but to me the anise flavor is the strongest one here. I like licorice in general (though not licorice root), so I think it’s delicious iced with oat milk and maple syrup! Will definitely need to pick up a tin of this one. :)

What i like about this chai is that it’s simple…they give you the ability to make this without the traditional stove top format. I also like the spiciness of this one. It’s not terribly extreme and i could use a little more of a kick, but i like it’s uniqueness. I think though, that the star anise keeps this from being really great. It adds a sort of sweetness here that i don’t love. Still really fun to try and interesting!
