I’ve been having a bit of a stressful and busy week and I just got this tea from a trade and it is wonderful. It has made my day better.

First sip – Very sweet and very fruity. It was a bit more pungent than I was expecting.

This a nice smooth tea with a great vanilla flavor and a citrusy brightness. It also has a bit of a caramel flavor and a nice undertone of the tea that comes out on the end of the sip. This tea is wonderful right after it brews and lightens up a bit as it cools. Overall this is a great tea.

This was the last tea I hadn’t experienced on my “I really want to try it” list…until now. The leaves smell really good: rich, fruity, and sweet. In fact, it smells so good I feel like leaving the container open in my room. On taste…it makes me think of an earl grey with berry notes. I’m getting a hint of sourness that reminds me of pomegranate perhaps? After making this a few more times, I greatly prefer it iced and sugared.

It’s good. It’s also REALLY good iced.

El Monstro

That sounds about right, I can see myself preferring this with some ice, maybe a little sweetener. I think I’m going to use more leaf next time as well, it was kind of light bodied the first time for me.

There’s smoke from a forest fire filling the air this morning. Everyone and everything smells like lapsang – including my tea :-( Someone clear the air so Paris can, once again, smell like Paris.

Stay safe!

lol thanks, but the fire is miles away from the city. Concrete jungles aren’t particularly combustible anyway. Heard the smoke has traveled down as far as Vermont though.

I’m losing my mind…this is all cocoa and vanilla to me. I had to re-examine the sample bag to ensure my sanity, and now I can kind of smell bergamot in the dry leaves. I had this for the first time last night and it was honest-to-god like hot chocolate (with milk and agave). I don’t know what’s wrong with me. It’s good though.

I can’t beleive I didn’t rate this before. Made myself a nice pot of this over the weekend since I had some extra cream to go with it. Lovely cup. Nice, fruit and just overall yummy.

A new tea for this Friday morning. Very aromatic, smells almost fruity but the taste is more mellow, bergamot softened with vanilla? Nice.

Do you think this is stronger on the Earl Grey side? Or are the other flavors more pronounced? The package is stunning, but I’d like to know what’s inside is worth paying for too! Thanks. ;)

The bergamot’s definitely there, but I think the vanilla holds its own very well, both in taste and aroma.

Tea of the day at work. I really need to remember to bring some milk so I can have my tea the way I like. Still not a bad cuppa with my tea honey. Wish I had a way to temp control my water at work. Guess I know where some of my first pay check is going :)

edit oh hey look! my 150th tasting note!

As I sit here drinking my new favorite thing (Second Cup’s Caramello coffee….blasphemy!!), it occurred to me that I could pop on and write a little review for my old fave.

I’m still trying to regain my love of tea…I certainly don’t need to buy anymore because my stash is through the roof and I haven’t been drinking much these days.

I’m sticking with the teas that have permanently earned a place in my heart (and in my belly), with the hopes that it will rekindle the old flame that died once I got pregnant and coffee took over. Now I have a baby and I go to bed at night dreaming of the cup of java I will have the next morning. Tea just doesn’t give me that satisfying jolt. But I know the love is there, and I’ve been drinking some in the evenings.

All that to say – THIS tea is one of my holy grail teas. It has achieved that ultimate status for me. It’s perfectly flavored but not too strong, not fake tasting. It’s basically a fancy, gussied up (yeah I just said that) version of my go-to tea, earl grey. Like the Earl’s young, fun sister.
I don’t know why but if you watch Downton Abbey, you should know that the character of Rose just came to mind.

Caramel, berries, vanilla, bergamot….I dunno, I mean this tea is everything I want in a ….tea. I’m raising my rating to 100 for two reasons:

1) when you love something this much you should give it full credit
2) when someone who is currently “off” tea (trying to find her way back on), and still loves one this much, that’s saying something.

(I’ve been using the sachets because with a 3 month old baby around, time is money)

Bonnie was so kind to send this (and many many more) in a swap. Thank you so very much! This was just ok to me. I can not really pinpoint any specific dislikes except perhaps the hint of bergamot (of which I am not a fan).
However, I do appreciate getting the chance to try this tea.

YANA! Dr Who S3E14.

With Paris tea? Perfect blend. Distinctly spicy tasting this morning. I think Paris adapts well to my mood.
