The flavoring here is really artificial and alcohol-y. It doesn’t taste at all like gingerbread or spices really. Not sure how they messed that up since they just needed to throw spices in there. It’s a shame.

#adventageddon Day Twenty Four – 6/7

I was excited when I opened up the package of this one because the loose leaf had a very large, completely intact star anise and I really love the flavour of star anise. I wasn’t totally sure how it would play into Gingerbread but damn if I wasn’t stoked to find out! Unfortunately, and weirdly, the steeped cup of this tea was SO weak and watery and I didn’t really taste any star anise, or much of anything else, at all…

Overall there were a few winners in the Tea Revv advent, but they were few and far between. I think this was probably my least favourite of all the advents I did this year.

Tea Revv Advent Calendar – Day 18

(originally written November 18th)

Is it bad that I’m already tired of spice teas? And these are only my first two advent calendars out of five… XD I guess, to be fair, spice teas aren’t my favorites so it’s not surprising.

Anyway! The ingredients in this don’t sound very gingerbread-y to me. And unsurprisingly, it doesn’t taste like gingerbread anyway. It sort of tastes like an oatmeal cookie with anise in it, which is not entirely unpleasant. I love oatmeal cookies and I do like anise, it’s just an odd combination. It’s a very lightly-flavored tea.

Not bad, as spice teas go! It’s not clovey, which is a nice change of pace.
