From The Tea Girl

Sweet flavours of maple syrup and pumpkin cream on an organic rooibos with apricot pieces, sweet orange peel, calendula and safflowers. Makes a great seasonal latte treat.
Blenders Notes: This blend has been tricky to get to the right balance of sweetness and spice. The maple sweetness supports the pumpkin aroma and is balanced by a hint of walnut and the heat of ginger spice. The blend is best if allowed to steep at least 5 min so the spices can infuse. The rooibos allows long steeping as it has low tannin and does not go bitter. A splash of sweetener will bring the infusion to perfection.

Ingredients: organic rooibos, cinnamon, ginger, citrus peel, cocoa pieces, apricot, orange peel, calendula, safflowers, flavour.

Sample from Courtney, thank you!

This is lovely. It has a nice balance of rich and creamy notes with the spices. It reminds me a bit of a less-sweet pumpkin pie with a stronger ginger presence. I don’t know that I specifically think of maple, but it does have a brown sugary, rich sweetness to it that fits. The strong spices also help keep it from tasting too rooibos-y for me.

Quite a nice one. I already have a pumpkin spice rooibos in my cupboard, but would happily stock this if I didn’t. Not sure yet if I’m going to try to get the The Tea Girl advent this year…

I wish they shipped outside Canada!

gmathis

I am so-o-ooo ready for fall (flavors)! Mostly just fall.

Courtney

I’m happy to ship things to American tea friends whenever!

@gmathis I agree, screw summer lol!

ashmanra

We are in for five consecutive days over 100F and with no rain in the forecast, this means hauling pails of water from the rain barrels to the garden to keep everything from succumbing. Big yuck. I am turning my thoughts to advents and longing for cooler days.

Cameron B.

Surprisingly, it hasn’t been so bad here this summer! Our grass is actually still green ha ha, usually it’s surrendered to the heat by now. But even still, I am ready for fall and also already planning my advents for the year!

rosebudmelissa

Our grass has also stayed green, but we have had high temperatures and terrible humidity. We ended up adding dehumidifiers to the basement to prevent mold down there. But a wet summer is one half of the recipe for beautiful fall color, so fall may just be an extra glorious one here this year!

2025 sipdown no. 10

From across the room, this was all maple in scent. Up close, the scent was very reminiscent of pumpkin pie. The taste was a fairy equal balance of both maple and pumpkin, with hints of cinnamon and perhaps some warmth from ginger in the background.

I had the resteeped leaves cold brewed and the flavour was all pumpkin, little to no maple, with a gentle yet clear ginger heat. Quite a tasty tea overall.

Sample from the tea girl. I picked this one out i think lol I found this one to be a really nice rooibos blend. It IS maple-y and also pumpkin AND doesn’t have that woody rooibos flavour that i don’t like. It is very sweet though, but that’s almost a given with maple flavouring. :)

2020 Advent Calendar from The Tea Girl – Day 18

Backlog from last Friday – so after my disaster of a morning matcha, I was excited to have this tea in the evening before bed as a sweet maple treat and to redeem my poor tea day lol. Brewing, this smelled SOO MAPLEY and YUM. I steeped for 5 minutes as per the recommendation, although my usual steeping time for rooibos is 4 minutes.

So for flavor – this was good, but it wasn’t quite hitting the mark for me, and I honestly think it’s just the wrong season for it. This was super maple, super woody, super NUTTY (like nut aftertaste that freaked me out, cuz I know there are no nuts in here), and overall quite cozy…but much better suited for autumn. I am going to make my next cup as an almond milk latte with some maple syrup I think, as that is what this tea needs – I almost found it too autumny and sweet and powerfully nutty on its own, it needs some milk to keep up with it! Tasty, but just not the right mindset for me haha! Might order a bit more next fall when I’m craving those flavors!
