20 Tasting Notes
A very enjoyable smoky aroma with a pleasant and smooth liquor. Do not be afraid, it does NOT taste as it smells, the two senses conflict for an interesting and not unpleasant experience.
This is definitely a tea that you will like or hate. The pungent aroma is something of a surprise, and has a definite air of tobacco about it. The liquor is a deep rich brown, almost more of what you would expect from a black than an oolong. The brew retains the hint of tobacco in the aroma, but the taste is easy and quite smooth on the palate. A great little workhorse tea in my opinion.
Nice light Earl Grey. The leaves smell absolutely wonderful, brews up to a nice deep amber. The taste is light, I usually prefer a “harsher” Earl Grey in the morning, but as an anytime tea this is quite good. Might benefit from a longer steep time, may try that next.
So far this is still my day to day green tea. So easy to just sip on.
Ick. Ack. Yuk. This tea smells like dirty socks… the taste isn’t actually that bad.. but I just can’t get over the aroma… not sure if perhaps I brewed it wrong or had too much puffed rice… but.. oy.
Not bad, had this earlier today. Nothing really jumps out at me. It seems like every time I make this it comes out different. Sometimes grassy, sometimes bland. I’ve never had a /bad/ brew.. but it always seems like I can never get it /quite/ right…
One of Lipton’s better teas. It’s a non-spectacular black, but the price and convince can be compelling. The liquor is actually a very nice deep dark amber, the aroma is almost non-existent however, and it’s got a touch of.. “oily” to it.
The very green, very thin almost grass-like looking leaves produce a very appealing golden liquor. The aroma can only be described as “nautical”. The flavor is sublime, a comforting green tea.I was itching for a green today and found an old sample tin of this that I hadn’t tried yet, so I brewed up a big mug of this and it hit the spot. Note: DO NOT follow Adagios directions. This should be brewed about two minutes maximum, preferably around a minute.
