Davidstea Website Woes

Since I’ve seen people talking about this in other threads, I thought I’d go ahead and do a masterpost of my own grievances with Davidstea. I’m past the point of reasoning with this new website design. It is sloppy, slow to load, and looks like a cheap knockoff of the previous site. I don’t know who signed off on these changes, but the site has literally been rendered unusable, and a brief scan of Steepster plus their Facebook page tells me I’m not the only one experiencing issues. If I can manage to get stuff added to my cart (a rare occurrence), it will randomly vanish the next time I click on it. I made it all the way to the payment page this time before it cleared out everything I had added. Now it won’t even let me log into my account. At this point, I have to assume Davidstea just doesn’t want my money, which, hey, fine by me. It’s just incredibly frustrating to do the same task five times with slightly different, but altogether negating results. Anyone else sick of the runaround?

I’m pretty much done with David’s Tea myself. Looks aside, they should just revert to the old website until they can fix the new one.

I’m getting to the same point…just trying to find replacements for some of the blends from them that I adore-finding a bit difficult :/ Their CS is just getting worse too as time goes on….

For days it wasn’t even loading for me, I’d just get a big jumble of code.

Now that it’s working for me I’m trying to look at the clearance section and it just lags out trying to load more pages. Bleh.

Glad it’s not just me! The new website’s UX makes zero sense and doesn’t load half the time. Ugh.

I’m reading the facebook comments and the (not helpful) solution from customer service is as follows:

“Hey Paige, we understand how frustrating this must be. We can’t say for certain when it’ll be completely functional, but our team is doing everything they can to make it happen as soon as possible. In meantime, if you’re still having issues placing an order, we’d invite you to contact [email protected] or 1-855-702-3006. They’ll be more than happy to help you place your order.”

I am a long time patron of Davids Tea but the bigger they get, the less they seem to care about customer satisfaction. They used to be remarkable for keeping people happy but now they are leaning closer and closer to many other mega corps that know there are always more customers out there.

Yeah…everyone adores them but for real, their customer service is awful, It’s already been totally awful for anything I had issues with. Way worse than Teavana, which is saying a lot from some CS stories I’ve heard from Teavana! XD And yeah totally hate their new site-takes forever to load things too.

I’m right there with you all. It’s like they are trying way too hard to be hip and trendy.

I also cannot sign in! Can’t even get a password reset!
And when I try and click on a product to see it, some of them send me to a whole other page! Luckily when I went in store today, they had all (for the most part) of the products I was trying to buy online. But yes, SO. FRUSTRATING.

Oh, good to know it’s not just me. I couldn’t sign in or get a password reset either and I thought maybe my account got deleted or something.

I finally managed to place an order after tedious amounts of fatal errors and white screen time outs. Exhausting. I think one trick to logging in is to go ahead and add everything to your cart, then sign in when it prompts you, rather than trying to log in first thing on the website’s front page. Don’t ask me why that makes a difference, it just does. I wouldn’t even have bothered, but I had free tea waiting for me, and I’ve been dying to try their Gold Rush. 40% off those gorgeous double-walled travel mugs didn’t hurt, either. Overall, pretty ridiculous experience. Would not repeat.

Resurrecting this thread to pose a question to those of you who have ordered from Davidstea recently. I ordered quite the lineup of mugs from the Fall collection, but two of them are stained in a way that appears to be glaze-deep. I sent Davidstea an email on Tuesday, but I’ve yet to hear back from anyone. Is there a standard wait time in terms of turnaround? Or should I just bite the bullet and call them instead?
