Induction compatible Kettle
So my Oven broke 2 day ago and having a really good deal i got a induction one the only problem is special cookware is needed to work with it so a special kettle too!( i do have a electric one but space on my counter is becoming rare this day and well boiling water in 15 sec is hard to beat ) Finding cookware is easy but the 10 store i visited who i know sell kettle none work with my Oven
In despair I turn to you fellow steepster maybe some of you have a induction oven and know where i can buy one ( or even a model that work i can find it myself :P )
Wow, never heard of that. Have you tried amazon or Williams Sonoma?
I vote to skip the kettle and get a Zojirushi instead….it changed my life!
i did check the zojirushi my main problem is i cant find one locally and i hate buying electronic online and still have the problem of place on my counter lol

Your local Teavana should carry them – if you want to go there. Otherwise, not sure if you can shop from Kohls.com in Canada? That’s where I got my last one because they have 30% off occasionally.
finding one online is kinda easy amazon.ca does sell a model for around 100$ i could do without the flower on it lol but it’s not that big of a problem. I do have a teavana somewhere near me maybe i will go see i kinda find them expensive but not gonna be less expensive online with the shipping. what model do you have ?
I do have a history of bad experience with electronic and online buying when something go bad and customer service

Both of those go to 175/195/208. Some other models don’t go to 175 but 140 instead. I’m a huge white tea/green tea fan so I like the 175.
They are expensive but I’ve never had a problem with mine. My first I’ve had for 2 years and it was used from a teashop that was closing so it had ALOT of use. I cleaned it up and it works wonderful. That one is my backup now and my travel one.
I also recommend the zojirushi water heater. One day I come home to discover mine had been unplugged all day and I was so cranky for about 2 seconds, that’s how much it’s spoiled me.
My husband and I are thinking of going induction once we remodel the kitchen. I personally use an electric kettle (a Cusinart) that does multiple tempuratures, which is nice for non boiling water teas.
When looking for a pan that should work for your stove, bring a magnet – if it sticks, the pan will work on the stove.
HOWEVER, you can get a cast iron slab, put that on the stove first, then put any tea kettle / non induction friendly pan ontop, then it will heat up like asif you are cooking on an electric stove. That way you don’t need to buy special pans and can save your old ones.
I know about the magnet :p finding magnetic kettle is really hard i did try the magnet on nearly 40 if not more model lol ( people do give me a weird look when try magnet on all kettle and cookware lol) i did find one model but there is no way i’m paying 50$ for a normal kettle when i can get a controlled temp kettle for near 70
i like the idea of the cast iron slab but being a fan of mostly green tea i will probably go the way of the multiple temperature Zojirushi are maybe a little pricey for me but there is other model will make some research finding the best product for me Thank for the answer :)
i bought a cuisinart online but it had no instructions.. it seems to boil over every time i use it any tips?

The Zojirushi ones don’t do enough temperature range for me. Bleh, I paid less my kettle, crazy amazon price fluctuations!

It does state but we have versions that are compatable with Induction (at no extra cost) while simultanously being compatable with gas, electric, alcohal. It is made with a special plate that is designiated by a yellow or white bottom, with no other difference. Let me know if you’re interested.

Boiling water in 15 seconds…wow. I prefer my variable-temperature electric kettle for tea, but for cooking (or indeed when boiling water is needed for tea), just wow. 15 seconds. Want.
