Boston meet up

Thanks for the help I’m a little surprised that none of the locals have taken me up on it yet. Perhaps they’re all on Cape Cod quaffing iced tea. I’ll be happy to join you next time I’m north of the border. How far would I have to go?

I thought of meeting at home first so we can control the amount, steeping time, number of teas, etc., but I’d be happy to meet at tealuxe or anywhere else we can get some good leaves. Interested?

Id be interested…if we could get more of us on board and I had plenty of notice. I am a granite stater…so i do not live close to cambridge…but not too far away either.

The more the merrier, as far as I’m concerned. I haven’t heard from anyone else who’s local, but I keep hoping word will get out. We could certainly try to get together next time you’re in town.

Excellent idea! I’ve lived in Boston since my student days and have never grown tired of the place. What brings you here from a lovely place like Minneapolis (I lived there briefly too)?

Well, my boyfriend is moving there in September and since we’ve been dating long distance for 4 years now I’m going to try to move wherever he is once I graduate. However, I’m thrilled that he is moving to Boston because there is tons of opportunity there for my field! I’m hoping to get a position at a biotech firm. My specialty is immunology and immune cell development. Also, please tell me it’s at least a little bit warmer in Boston!

Yes, if biotech is your field, you’re coming to the right place. Lots of opportunity, but lots of competition to go with it because all those engineers who graduate from MIT want to stay in the area. When the time comes, send me your resume and I’ll see who I know that might be in your field.

At the very least, you and your boyfriend should come over for tea so we can talk about living in Boston. Warmer than Minnesota? Somewhat, but we’re more variable too, so you might wear a light jacket one day and a parka the next.

The BF moves to Boston in a couple of weeks, so I’ll be visiting every so often. We’ll have to set something up :) And variable weather is fine with me- I’m from Florida, where it is pouring one minute and not a cloud in the sky 10 minutes later. It’s the seven straight depressing months of horrible cold that gets me in Minnesota.

Any time, anywhere. I’m pretty new here so I don’t know who’s from where. Do you know of any other Steepters in the area? We may have to start small and see who else is interested.
