Picked this up along with my Original Vanilla Custard Beard Papa’s. Great for walking around on chilly nights in LA! Not too strong in either lemon or ginger, just the right balance. And the sweetness from the honeybush rounds it all out. Good one!
107 Tasting Notes
Happy happy tasting tea! Pastry with cinnamon and almond, just a delight to sip!!!
Not a bad puerh from a bag! :-) I think Numi isn’t bad bagged tea overall.
The coincidence of it all….I was drinking this tea at work last week, finally remembered that I needed to add it to Steepster, and the first item that shows up on my feed is chrine’s review!
So…as I commented on her post, my son got me this for Christmas (along with the Emperor Puerh from Numi) and I have been drinking them both last week at work. I swear…there is a hint of mint in this chocolate puerh! And it’s not left over from something else in my cup. Anyway, I do like it, it’s a nice pick up in the late afternoon!

Smooth and it not only smells like wine, but kind of tastes like it too! Also a beautiful dark infusion! My son picked this out at the LA Tea Festival last year and I must say, he has good taste! :-)
Strong and black, but no bitter taste and clean tasting. It put hair on my chest! I think this is PG Tips older brother.
Picked this up at the Tea Festival in LA last weekend! I love this flavor, fell in love at first sip! Reminds me of the tom kah soup I love at Thai restaurants, except no fish chunks! And the vanilla smoothes it all out. :-)
So. Gross.
Ran out of ginger tea so I’m using the Lemongrass to soothe my overstuffed tummy. :-) I like this lemongrass, I like to blend it with my PG Tips or my PG Green. It’s tasty enough to drink on its own, lemonish and smooth.
Oh my gosh, I didn’t have the Aromatic when I first ordered Zealong, and now I’m so sad I didn’t. I’ve been missing out!
I feel the Aromatic is more on the Pure side than the Dark side, and it has a floral fragrance and taste. Like a jasmine, which is of course my favorite, but paired with this oolong’s natural sweetness, it’s a whole new dimension of floral tea for me!
I’ve been drinking this one for two days now, and it puts a smile on my face with every inhale and every sip!
So after about 7 infusions, I think that this year’s tea is not as strong as the 2009 (?) tea. Although it could be because the ’09 tea was my first, then everything has to compare to that, lending to somewhat of a bias. Very little compares to the first time! :-)
I think the ‘11 tea doesn’t taste as “roasty” as the ‘09 tea. BUT, having said that, it does have a character all its own. Buttery smooth, roasty vegetable flavor. Cold, the grassy notes come out more, warm is just a nice cuppa to…well, cup. Welcoming scent, you know you’re in for a treat! It still has that layered personality that I know Zealong to have, it’s like a cousin to the ’09 leaves. Same family, some similar characteristics, but still a stand alone individual.
Long story short, IT’S GOOD.
Well, it looks like Argo sells loose leaf too, but I had a RTD from them, the Carolina Honey. Got it at the local Safeway (Von’s).
Although I am not a fan of honey, I am starting to appreciate it’s subtle sweetness in my teas, and this one just confirmed it. The tea wasn’t particularly impressive, and I could not detect any lemon. Wasn’t bad for a RTD, better than Lipton or Snapple that’s for sure! And a nice glass bottle that I think I can reuse for a while. I might try some of the other ones, there was a RTD Mojito one and a green.
Floral, like jasmine, but not. Is this what orchids taste like? Very clean and smooth on the tongue, I like the floral mixing with the crispness of the oolong. It’s a nice assault on the senses!
Been drinking this during this last work stretch, been crazy at work and I wanted energy without caffeine because I have been having trouble sleeping due to a kinked neck and “stuck” shoulder. Stuck is the only way I can describe what my shoulder is doing and feels like. Anyway, I’ve had this for a while, really miss my Hina’s Tea shop. Just pure yerba mate, great unique yerba mate taste and totally powered me through the day! Yay!
Sweet. Grassy. Handles my oversteeping with grace. A nice green!
Found at a newish local coffee and tea shop. Tasty, very much in line with other Iron Goddesses and Monkey Pickeds…vegetal, a little more roasty flavored than others I’ve tasted. A very nice oolong! I drank a whole small pot, so I hope I can go to sleep tonight! I tend to overdrink oolongs and then the caffeine sneaks up on me!
So I found a bit of this in the back of the cupboard, I was sure I had already finished this up. Well, nope. So I made this iced, since it is still mid to upper 90’s here in NorCal. Iced Earl Grey? Not so bad, the floraly citrusy notes are very crisp, crisper than in hot EG. Still a great aroma, still refreshing.
There is not much left, so I’m going on a Iced EG spree until this is gone. I got this tea ages ago, it can’t be good for much longer.
I’ve been on a mission to clean my tea cupboard, because I went on quite a few tea shopping sprees. I am trying to refrain from buying any more until I empty my cupboard some, but that means my “wanted” list keeps growing longer! It’s a vicious cycle…. :-)
Yummy mango scent and flavor.
Been doing this one iced for a couple of days, making a huge pitcher and drinking all day! Not quite a tropical summer getaway, not even close. :-) But yummy and quenching my thirst!
Doubled up the leaf in my new tea infuser (http://artahome.com/cafe/tea-leaf-infuser, cute isn’t it?) and this is fabulous iced! Been sipping this most of the day, perfect without sugar! Fruity and refreshing!

This is a RTD one that I found, but I can’t remember where…
It’s sweet (with no added sugar) and has a pretty clean taste. Not tasting the black tea, the oolong is present as well as the rose hips? But to me, as I normally don’t like rose anything (not even the flower), it doesn’t taste strongly of rose, but just a sweetness, almost a fruitiness to it.
Tasty. Fabulous cold refreshment on a warm day fo sho. :-)
Good to the very last steeping! If I were ever to buy anything from Teavana again, it would probably be this one. But there are so so many other good oolongs out there, that there is slim chance of that happening.
Another gone from the cupboard!
How weird, I think this one lost almost all its flavor after the box was opened. It still smelled of chocolate, but not as strong as before and there was almost no taste except for a coffee taste. Yes, storage in a cool dry place, no light. So odd.
This one I actually decupboarded a while ago, just was trying to get through the rest of the “no original taste” of it.
