From Drink The Leaf

We are pleased to bring you this new tea from Shizuoka, Japan. A deep steaming process, “Fukamushi”, is used resulting in finer tea leaves, for a quick and full flavored cup. The dry leaf is fine, bright, and has aromas of fresh cut grass. The liquor is also a bright chartreuse color. Aromas of nori seaweed, fresh snap peas right out of the garden, all mingle nicely together. The palate is clean and medium bodied packed with flavors of seaweed, sweet peas, and asparagus. A lingering finish, with a slight sweetness. A great tea for on the go!

Drink the Leaf says that this is the perfect tea on the go. I would beg to differ on that because its a touchy sencha. Sure, it only takes a minute, but you have to be very precise with that minute…and even more-so with the temperature. (None of which are mentioned on the Drink the Leaf site, mind you.)

When adhered to correctly, the drinker is treated to a balanced, un-spinached cup of grass-nut, seaweed-sweet excellence. I’d say this is the third best type of sencha I’ve imbibed.
