A light roasted green tea with a smooth rich aftertaste like roasted oolongs. Not a bad tea but not one that I would likely buy myself.
Back in the 1920s, a tea merchant in Kyoto invented Hojicha by roasting Bancha green tea to produce this wonderful, toasty and smooth tasting tea! Because the roasting process destroys most of the caffeine, Hojicha roasted tea can be enjoyed in the evening and not keep you awake. Good with meals.
