I know this is everything a serious tea person is supposed to dislike – a bag of green fannings, and not much of them, and (shudder) its Lipton. I know, but I had one bag of this left, and dog gone it this is an enjoyable cup. I don’t have to think. I don’t have to look for subtleties. All I have to do is set back and enjoy my Jolly Rancher Watermelon Stix in a cup. Happy times.

Bonnie

Good for you! Isn’t that the point?!

K S

Yep. As I gain more experience, I hope I never lose the appreciation for the simple pleasures. I want to enjoy each tea for just what it is.

Azzrian

LOL sometimes simple is nice.

Bonnie

I’ll never forget being with the wine maker at Mondavi and us talking about wine snobs…he said he had a favorite wine at home made by Ernest and Julio Gallo. His opinion was “Drink what you like no matter what other people say!”

Azzrian

Exactly!

Angrboda

Tea snobbery really can be taken too far. Sometimes there is just more enjoyment to be found in a cheap bag than in a perfectly brewed cup of super premium grade. It’s all about the circumstances and the associations connected with it. :) Be not ashamed.

Barb

I had a Lipton green tea recently that I felt the same about. It was Jasmine and Citrus, I think. I’m too much of a newbie to behave like a snob, but I didn’t have good memories of childhood Lipton orange pekoe oversteeped and iced, so I was really surprised when I liked the newer stuff.

Hmmmmm… I don’t know what it is about this tea because back in January I LOVED IT. Seriously, I got some of it to try from starberry and immediately went to the store to pick some up. Only to find out that this particular flavor has been discontinued, or at least I couldn’t find it on Liptons website, the internet in general, or any nearby store. BUT, it was at Starberry’s walmart so she picked up a couple boxes for me.

I brought it to work because I haven’t been drinking my bagged tea at home a lot; I just have so much loose leaf now! I figured this would be a great way to get through the neglected teas in my cupboard. Yesterday, I cracked into this stuff and was surprised at how.. grainy? it was. You definitely get that melon taste at the end, but the first sip is bitter. I thought that maybe I just oversteeped it yesterday since its a green tea and I might as well have just left the bag in my mug with how long I steeped it. Today though, I steeped no more than 4 minutes with the same result.

I DON’T KNOW! Maybe after drinking so much better quality teas I’ve just become a prude, haha.

Anyway, the mediocre work tea list ever expands!

wish i had a punny tea name

That’s weird, maybe it got old? Also Lipton teas aren’t well packaged in those paper bags, lots of air can get in.

Or yeah maybe you’re becoming a tea snob. Heh heh heh. B)

I bought this specifically for making sun tea, and it was insanely delicious and refreshing! I’ll have to try it hot next time.

This is without competition my favorite bagged tea! The tea is so refreshing and clean… I have no idea what dragon fruit taste like, but the melon note is what I fall in love with in this cup EVERY TIME! I just hate that this tea has become extremely hard to find in my local stores anymore. I now have to order it OVERPRICED off of Amazon. Either way I will buy this tea until I can no longer find it!

I bought both this tea and the Lipton Purple Açai & Blueberry Superfruit at the same time and favor this tea over the other one! The fruity flavor is more prominent and refreshing, not too tart and not too sweet. Apparently the tea is becoming difficult to find, though, so that’s a bit of a bummer since it was my favorite Lipton Superfruit. APPARENTLY MY WAL-MART IS STILL CARRYING IT THOUGH
