Black Green Herbal Rooibos White Blend by Numi Organic Tea

From mist-covered mountains to sun-drenched deserts to fertile fields, we proudly bring you our tea palette. The flavors range from smooth earthiness, and light floral scents, to refreshingly sweet and sour notes. What they all share is the recollection of how some Ancient One tamed fire and water to coexist harmoniously, and steeped in them the gifts of Nature. Since that distant past, people have soothed, roused, healed, explored and celebrated with these wonderful infusions. We encourage you to do the same with Numi’s finest.

Thanks to Numi for sending me this entire box od tea to sample! :D What an awesome gift.

Tonight I chose Decaf Black Vanilla.
Since I didnt want to spill any in bed, I chose to break in my new Tea Traveler!!!

This tea is really smooth and light for being a black tea. Very night worthy! I love the real vanilla beans opposed to vanilla flavor. Save that stuff for baking a cake, you know? This stuff is awesome. SO mellow! So Im sitting here sipping this, enjoying being a tea lover, and all that goes with it like extra awesomeness and whatnot, and paired with some Gotye and chatting up an old college friend on yahoo messenger….tonight is good. Numi, you set the mood.

Tonight I tried Mate Lemon.

LIQUID. LEMON. DROP.

Delicious. Since being pregnant, Ive had to switch from sugar to sucralose or even stevia, due to my gestational diabetes. Lemme tell you stevia leaves really do taste good. especially in teas. This green tea with lemon, is like a liquid lollipop.

This morning I decided to try Chocolate Pu-erh. NEVER had a chocolate tea and NEVER had a Pu-erh before…So I guessed around and thought..strong….chocolate…sugar and a shot of creamer. I guess I was right cause this is delicious!! YUM. Im sad there was only one bag of it in the box..what a treat. :D Its not quite like hot cocoa or anything like my dumb brain was trying to imagine while being half asleep, but it’s kind of good that way. The best of both worlds.

OH. and eff you, mini kuerig. why you have forsaken giving me hot water in the morning I’ll never know. Stop being on the fritz! I did nothing to you. Please be my friend again.

:) Im pretty much planning on going through this box within a few days. Being disciplined enough just to have one tea bag in the mornings, of course! Today I tried Breakfast Blend. Super awesome, I know I used a bit too much sugar, but it was still yummy. Not as strong as I would like, but It was a pretty gold color! :D Pairs up nicely with a handful of grapes and a toasted bagel with butter.

And thank you, Kuerig for working today, you are greatly appreciated.

I had the decaf ginger lemon. I should say that I’m not the biggest fan of greens. Haven’t found my go-to green tea yet, but this isn’t bad. Very light. I can taste the ginger and lemongrass, but just barely. Maybe if I steeped longer but I was afraid it’d go bitter. Would be good blended with a lemongrass tea or with a squirt of lemon juice. Overall not too bad.

I took a Chinese Breakfast: Certified Organic Yunnan Black Tea tea bag out of the assorted box that my boyfriend had. I love him to death because he lets me steal his tea.

I wasn’t sure if I had brewed it long enough because it brewed to this lovely golden topaz color instead of the deep brown I have been used to with my black teas. But I had brewed it for four minutes and I did remember that different teas brew up to different colors. This was the first time I had had this tea and it was good.

I drank it hot with nothing added.

It tasted light and fresh. It also tasted sweeter than the English Breakfast tea I have been drinking. I really liked that even though it was a black tea, it didn’t taste heavy like I was expecting it to. It was very, very nice and I really wish I had more.

Today I had the Golden Chai. I steeped it for 4 minutes (recommended 3-5). This is not a strong chai by any means. I like my chai to be very strong, so that when milk is added, it becomes a creamy spicy tea. This was not like that at all. Nice flavor, but too weak for my tastes.

I had the Aged Earl Grey: Fair Trade Certified™, Certified Organic Italian Bergamot Black Tea. Steeping for 3 minutes (3-5 recommended) produced a perfect cup of tea. I’m not typically an Earl Grey drinker. It is usually too bitter for my tastes. This cup was delightful. The bergamot was not too strong.
