Tokyo Lime

Green Tea by t Leaf T

Lime, lemon and sencha are decorated with sunflower petals, blue mallow blossoms, chamomile flowers and rose petals. Simply superb!

Thank you to Sandy for this tea! This is a lime flavored green. It is very good, and the flavors are well balanced between the green tea and the lime so the lime doesn’t overpower the green tea flavor. Someone on steepster had recommended this company to us before Sandy left for New Zealand, and the teas from them have been consistently good!

Sandy drank all her tea in New Zealand so she wouldn’t have to ship it home. This was one of her favorites, so when she had sent me a little packet of it, I saved a bit so we could enjoy it together when she got back to the States. I am happy to say that we got to enjoy a pot of it on her last full day before leaving again! It has lovely flavor, and the lime is bright but not overly tart.

I am remiss. I have been drinking this for about a month and haven’t reviewed it. I thought I had. First of all I love the way it smells. It is effervescent. The citrus-y sencha smell of it alone was the reason I bought it. It is sweet and the aroma sits on the back of my palate like fizzy lemonade. It’s nice to look at, too, plesant green leaves that unfurl in the pot, yellow and pink blossoms and flowers add a nice color. It brews a pale yellow typical of green tea. The brewed aroma is not as intense as the dry but still lightly citrus over a green tea base. As a flavored green, it tastes more of the lime with a sweet edge from the mallow, chamomile, rose and sunflower petals than of green tea but the tea flavor isn’t completely lost.

It is a lovely light cuppa that I particularly enjoy after long sunny afternoons.

This is a sometimes tea for me. The sharp citrus and lemongrass scents and flavours are nicely refreshing, but the same thing again stops me from having a second cup after my first.
