From T2

Description: A bright and sunny brew, this is one of the fruitier greens in our range. Juicy mango sweetness is definitely present, but doesn’t overwhelm the senses and calendula petals add a sweet kick. The fresh grassiness of sencha is tasted at first, with the tropical mango seeing the sunset through. This tea is positively brimming with warmth and gorgeous goodness.

Brew: 1 teaspoon per 200mls, brew 2-3 minutes in water at 80 degrees Celsius.

Serve: As is, hot or iced.

Flavour: Fruity, Sweet

Strength: Medium

Backlogging tea from yesterday afternoon….

This tea is from Tina S.. Thank you so much for sending this. I am always on the lookout for a good flavored green.

The sencha base is nice and smooth. It is a bit grassy, but not at all bitter. The mango flavor leans more tropical for me. Kind of more pineapple, but I did taste mango, too. I am thinking the name might use an update. It is funny how flavors of things sometimes end up tasting differently, even when you flavor a tea one way. The base definitely comes into play and can change the flavor just a little. All in all, a pretty good, refreshing tea, but nothing remarkable.

Teapot method at about 180F, 3 minutes.

That’s basically how I read it too, but since I’m not a pineapple girl I wasn’t sure if it was just me.

Another Boxing Day sale score. I love mango teas, and found this one very delightful. Pretty unextraordinary, and more of a generic tropical fruit vibe, than just pure mango. Still very enjoyable though. Lupicia’s mango flavors are still my favorite.

Official sipdown #1 now that my full kitchen stocks are loaded in here: this one was a sample from in store in late January when I needed something for a cocktail (see previous tasting note).

We’re into the first week of Autumn down here but for some reason the weather wanted to give us a reminder of Summer today, and I walked home in that sun! So a nice iced tea was in order for my return. I even threw in a mint ice cube for a little kick. Fresh and refreshing without being too sweet, just a hint of mango.

Dry, this one smells almost pineapply to me, which is a turn off. But brewed it mellows a bit. I don’t get mango from it, but it is a nice almost-mango flavour that I find inoffensive but not memorable.
