From Traditional Medicinals

Pleasantly aromatic and sweet. In contrast to peppermint, spearmint does not produce a cooling sensation. Children often find it to be more agreeable than peppermint.

Derk generously sent me this tea a couple months ago. I like peppermint more than spearmint, but was happy to give this a try. I steeped one teabag in a 355 ml mug at 205F for 4, 6, 8, and around 30 minutes.

As expected, this tea smelled like spearmint gum. The first couple steeps had a crisp, sweet, slightly earthy spearmint taste. I let the teabag sit for almost a day before making my last two infusions, which were not as flavourful and seemed a bit grassy and stewed. I’m not sure if this was due to the long delay between steeps or the extended steep times. Regardless, this was a pleasant way to end the day, although peppermint is still my favourite.

What you could find in a tea bag filled with spearmint only?

Yep, it was minty, quite sweet. Easydrinking liquid, no flaws. Probably quite fresh. I prefer peppermint though, when it comes to mints.

Thank you derk for new tea bag to my collection.

This is my chosen replacement for DT’s spearmint. It does come in paper teabags, however it was the cheapest option on amazon that wasn’t a 2 kg bag.

This is a nice, simple, sweet spearmint. Exactly what I needed.

Minty and good. I prefer this over straight peppermint but I like combinations of the two better than each individually. Good calming tea on a frightfully busy morning when I am very very tired.

A very sublime tisane – extremely relaxing. I grow my own spearmint spring-fall outside in my backgarden, but it is nice to have an alternative source for a good cup. I prefer spearmint over other kinds of mint (although I like and grow other kinds of mint too). I have drank this while sick, and also it is one of my top 3 favorite bedtime relaxation tisanes ( the others are chamomile lavender & nighty night valerian – both also from Traditional Medicinals). Once you start steeping it puts out a wonderful aroma that fills a whole room! It is sweet and crisp – and feels nice and cool on the throat. Just wonderful. Organic and fair trade. Steeped for 10 minutes in boiling water. Drank plain.

A straightforward, soothing spearmint tea. I really like spearmint flavour and actually prefer it over peppermint flavour. It just seems sweeter and brighter somehow. I like drinking any mint tea really. I find it makes me feel very calm and relaxed.

The only ingredient in this tea is spearmint. That being said, it’s simple, non-caffeinated, and easy to brew. A nice tea for colds, cold days, nightcaps, and, as the package says, children.

Besides, spearmint may help regulate testosterone production (like lavender), so it may be good for ladies who’re hairer than they should be
