I should have started my day with this one! This is one of the more BOLD black teas I have tried from Upton so far! And YES…I do know that I have been drinking a CRAZY amount of Upton Teas lately…I put an order in and needed to stock up on new black teas. FUNNY THING…as if this last order wasn’t enough…I put another order in YESTERDAY for about 50 more samples!

Anyhow…this one is sturdy and bold…peppery and quesi-smoky! A nice ‘kick-in-the-pants’ type tea!

Yay for Upton! I love their selection and prices, also that they are a somewhat local company to me. I’ll have to add this one to my list!

50 more samples? Awesome. :) I just realized I’m almost at 40 teas in my cupboard and I thought that was a lot, but I guess that’s nothing on this site.

I’m loving your Upton Tea reviews. I’ve been wanting to order from them for awhile, and your reviews will help me narrow it down!

@Donna – go ahead and take that plunge. Customer service is great!

I second JasonCT, the samples I got from Upton were great, and my order shipped very fast. My next order from them will be featuring some Nepal black teas!

50 samples! FUN

Ok. I’ll be working on putting my order together, then will post on the Share Your Orders thread.

Tea of the morning…. (SRP #25)

If you like a smokier Keemun, this is the one for you. The leaves are on the short side, kind of like something that is a BOP. Although it is not smokin’ like a Lapsang Souchong, it does have a notable smokey character that is perfect for the morning’s wake me up cup. It has a chocolate note in there, too, and a fullish mouthfeel similar to coffee. I am considering this one, because the smokiness kind of reminds me of my F&M Keemun that I loved while I had it. It is organic, which is a bonus, plus it is a bargain at just under $6 for 125 grams.

Usual teapot method with a 3 minute steep.
