Organic Keemun Hao Ya 'A'

Black Tea by Zen Tara Tea

This is a black tea with a scattering of golden tips from Anhui province, China. The evenly colored leaves are in small tight twists and yield a warm, almost floral aroma. The liquor is a deep ruddy brown. The flavor is a bit smokier than the aroma.

Had this tea this morning (2nd time since purchasing it) and it was excellent! The toasty/oaky/smoky (slight) flavor I personally refer to as the “keemun” flavor is very nice in this one. If you like Keemun Hao Ya A then this tea is a definite one to try. It’s organic to boot so that’s a bonus. I had 16 oz but wishing I had some more with me.

Ahhh, I remember drinking this in my cottage in Northern Latvia with excommunicated Roman Catholic Pope. It was a delightful supplement to our conversation about how plaid is the perfect balance between smart wear and cute wear!

Surprisingly light for a Keemun. Slightly smokey with roasted chestnuts in the aftertaste.

Nice Keemun. It finish feels a bit watery in the back of the mouth, but is more potent up front. I wonder how it holds up under multiple brewings…
