Subscription tea. Too much hibby in the first steep. Second steep is quite nice as the hibby is muted and the cinnamon comes through. Don’t need any more of this.

Flavors: Cinnamon, Hibiscus

I’ve been avoiding this one, heh…

“Don’t need any more of this…” Too funny!

Michelle

Cameron, its too bad because there are other, much better OBTC teas they could have put in the box!

Cameron B.

Yeah… The last subscription was just a fail IMO ha ha.

Advent tea! This is a strange combo, green and mango/papaya. Not sure where the abundance in the tea name comes from. This is just ok, glad I got to try but don’t need this in my cupboard

Flavors: Grassy, Mango, Papaya

Tea swap from tea-sipper, thanks! Mostly puerh on the first steep as I kept it short. Second steep is the sweet spot with plenty of caramel and plenty of smooth puerh. Third steep is faint caramel as it cools. What a nice balance between earthy puerh and butterscotch/caramel flavor. I’d be tempted to purchase more if my cupboard wasn’t too big already!

Flavors: Butterscotch, Caramel, Earthy, Smooth

Yay, glad it’s a hit. :)

Kinda strange to be drinking this tea in the middle of winter, but it was in the subscription box, so I’ll sip on it. It’s mango and coconut to me, seems like I should be looking at waves and a nice beach to drink this. It’s not artificial, but I’m not sure I’d buy a tin of it. Maybe I’ll add some black tea and see how it tastes caffeinated.

Flavors: Coconut, Mango

You find either (waves or a beach), let me know and I’ll join you there!

Advent tea! Sweet tea with a slight chocolate aftertaste. The puerh base makes it savory and salty. I would probably overleaf a cup, especially in the morning like I am drinking it now. That may bring the chocolate out? It is an easily drinkable cup and I would add it to an order.

Flavors: Chocolate, Earthy, Salty, Sweet

Advent tea! This has an ok strawberry note, but it smells more like strawberry than it tastes like strawberry. The finish is astringent. Might make a nice iced tea, so I’m confused as to why it’s in a holiday advent. Not something I need to try again.

Flavors: Astringent, Chemical, Strawberry

The first time I brewed this tea I thought it was a bit muddled, this steeping session, I lengthened the steep time and it came out a bit better. I think I prefer each of these on its own (the coconut does go well with vanilla rooibos) than together. There is an apple note up front and a coconut finish, but they just don’t mesh well together. I’ll have no problem finishing this little tin, but not something I need to mix up on my own.

Flavors: Apple, Cinnamon, Coconut, Vanilla

I haven’t tried this one yet, but it sounds like such an odd combo to me.

I picked up some of this tea in an order last fall and have been enjoying it. I have a tendency to brew it quite strong, and it doesn’t turn bitter or astringent. Smooth and malty, this is quite the nice blend. I’d be tempted to add this to an order again.

Flavors: Malty, Metallic, Nutty, Smooth

James Joyce would definitely drink something strong enough to club you over the head.

Michelle

Ya, this is a good tea when you are dragging yourself out of bed.

I love this tea so much I bought a tin of it (rare for me, really).

Advent tea! This is very lightly berry flavored green tea. Maybe it’s blueberry aside from any other berry? Whatever berry it is, it’s quite smooth and drinkable, a perfectly good afternoon cuppa. Not something I need in my cupboard, but glad I got to try.

Advent tea! This has a burnt toffee, sweet caramel vibe. I can even taste the pecan. I wish I had more of this tea and would switch it out for a few of the other ones in the advent. This reminds me a bit of OBTC pecan pie.

Flavors: Caramel, Earthy, Pecan, Toffee

I started drinking more tea about 10 years ago when I found that even my half -caf coffee was making me jittery and then sleepy after the caffeine wore off. While I started out with mostly Teavana, but soon expanded my tea cupboard to include lapsang souchon, pu-erh, Assam, and other strong black teas. I do enjoy oolongs, green, and other teas, as well as a nice tisane for an evening cuppa.
I’m not fond of jasmine or bergamont teas, though I’ll try anything once.
I am an avid traveler, hiker, soccer player/watcher.
I love trying new tea in new places, if you see something in my cupboard you want to try, hit me up for a swap!
