2970 Tasting Notes
Welcome to November! Good grief, how?
I’m participating in Nanowrimo again this year. I’ve done it many times before, and I love the structure of writing, it helps keep me focused.
I am also about to go into tech week and opening for the show I am in, plus the ordinary work I need to do…..
Why do I do this to myself?
Help me, Emperors Bride! I need a touch of something lovely to start the day!
Happy Halloween!
For me this morning, the quintessence of autumn.
I don’t have a really good pumpkin blend this year, mores the pity. Maybe I’ll see if I can find some end of the season sales (because November is still pumpkin season!!!!)
I’m in a play right now with a bunch of kids, which is fun. They were all telling me about their costumes yesterday, and were all vaguely disappointed that I was not going to have a costume. Me too, honestly. Another year as an Administrative Professional!
I hope some beautiful teas are part of this Halloween morning for you!
What age are the kiddos you’re working with? Fifth graders are my favorite people on the planet. (Well, maybe a tie for fellow Steepies… ;) I got to be a Manhattan project scientist with a lab coat on Sunday.
Let it never be said that I won’t fall for a gimmick. I am gimmick prone, as it turns out.
I’m not quite sure why I bought this one, as I didn’t like this film at all (I love Agatha Christie and have spent every one of the Kenneth Branagh films cluching at my face in horror as the film unfolds), but the packaging was pretty and hey! A pumpkin tea! Its a good season for that.
Ugggh. No. This is so weak that it barely deserves the name tea. I was expecting more of every possible flavor, but it’s not in this cup.
Kinda like the movies, now that I think about it.
Its been a stressful week- that sort of week where there are lots of external pressures and worries, and some internal too.
I have a good support system, and many kind and caring friends, but I am so worn out and feeling very much like if anything else happens, I will break down into a soggy mess.
This is the perfect day for the strong and gentle embrace of Queen Catherine, who never fails to provide a beautiful cup of tea.
Its going to be a long week- I start rehearsal for the next show, several very complicated works things are happening, and theres a bunch of family stuff this week.
There are days I want to give it all up and run into the mountains to live as a goat, but goats don’t have tea, so I guess I’ll stay down here with this nice cup of tower of London instead!
My cunning plan to encourage fall with my selection of tea flavors is not working. October ignores me in favor of summer heat.
Oh well, I have lovely teas anyway.
This one is really nice. Its fruity without being too sweet, which is a nice change for my cupboard!
This happens every year.
I don’t live in a part of the world where it gets cold early. And what I would describe as cold would cause others to laugh. It’s a mild type of autumn.
So I spend the first month of fall trying to force cold weather with my mind and my tea selections.
Its never worked, but maybe this year? And hey, if not, this lovely autumnal cup will be my friend.
I am someone who is an armature theatrical, so please forgive my drama when I say “Whyyyy is it only Tuesday?”
I think it’s going to be one of those weeks wherein things do not go right, and my baseline will be overwhelm.
So! Nice tea to ease me into the day.
I really do like this. It’s an unusual fruitness to it (the quince?), but so interesting that I always go back in for another sip!
Quince has been sneaking into several recent reviews, and since I’m clueless, I consulted gardensillustrated.com: The taste of quince is citrusy, but gentler and without the sharpness of a lime or lemon, so it can be a brightener of other flavours – the fruity component in a tagine, the lemony note in an apple pie – or can stand alone, baked mellow and pink (as the yellow flesh turns on slow cooking) with the spices of the season.
I am in the mood for a delightful and fruity tea, and this very neatly fits the bill. Yum!
Its fruity without being too sweet, but each sip creates an interest that sends me back for more.
I shall have to get some more of this.
Amen!
