15926 Tasting Notes
you know…tonight jack wasn’t as bleh as he was the first time. Maybe it’s because i steeped it for much less time than before, but this was a much tastier cup of tea this time around, even though, as usual it won’t be my favourite ever. I am a fan of jack. he makes me happy. tonight, this was a pretty good cup of tea, and a sipdown…sooo really? win. win.
I had this tonight when i finally got home. I’m getting a little cranky from these 12+ hr days with no lunch and too much talking, not enough time to do work sort of times. What i HAVE discovered is that it’s a good thing i wear glasses – it hides how tired i am from ppl…so only i have to see that in the mirror when i’m getting ready in the morning lol I’ve also discovered that have fun alcoholic drinks as soon as i get in the door + a nice black cup of tea…best relaxing time ever!
Sooo tonight it was this tea + a pineapple, mango, alcoholic drink with dinner. It was a great time, and once again i was reminded that i really do enjoy this puerh quite a bit, as long as i spend more than 1 cup with it. this is one of those rare instances where i generally prefer the second steeping of this. It’s just a little less intense, because these days, i’ve got all the intensity i need at work lol
see previous tasting note from today to hear that courtney is awesome… DEEELICIOUS…i held off for all of a day before diving in to what she sent me….i think it’s going to be a loong wait for my LB to come back, even with awesome ppl like YYZ and courtney who are trying to help me get through until July LOL love you guys! actually i pretty much love the crap out of everyone here on steepster for being so damn awesome. I know i keep saying it, but you guys keep me sane these days!
courtney is my favourite tea person this week…though i love you all a ton. She sent me a surprise package of LB and cacao that i mixed this morning much to my delight and had the best damn tea day ever. On the downside, i REALLY need to place and order with HI for this stuff but their customer service is annoying AND until i have the keys to the new place, i don’t want to order anything just in case things fall through. this though? + LB. best.damn.time. ever.
I wonder what if cacao nibs would be the same…
i actually bought some of those… intending to check…and uh forgot about them until you said that…maybe i’ll try tomorrow…
Ooh, try them! I haven’t bought any yet but they are on my shopping list and I was hoping they would be good with the LB. If not, then we can just eat them up as a snack I imagine.
I have cacao nibs myself, that I occasionally add to resteeps of straight LB. Yum.
Try them, Sil! I really like the ones I got in coffee. Yes, I’ve been drinking coffee almost every morning. Still haven’t tried them with tea, but I’m going to!
i REALLY wanted something fruity and tasty this morning in addition to my usual straight blacks, so i pulled this one out. It was the perfect choice! I’m seriously glad that i only have one more day to get through this week, even if my weekend won’t be particularly relaxing lol. This tea? pineapple deliciousness….i’m trying to decide if i want to hold on to the last of this until the lupicia order gets here (so i can compare this one and theirs) or just drink it all up and be damned!
I vote to hold on. Im for tasting side by side. Common, you got plenty to choose from.

The Lupicia one is quite different. You’ll be able to tell probably before the first sip. :)
I’ve had both before….I just don’t remember them clearly enough :)
I really prefer the Butiki or even DavidsTea ones. If you look at the Lupicia description, a HUGE clue in the difference is right there.
But I have some of the Lupicia so maybe I’ll finish that this morning. And I’ll use boiling water. :D
i am kind of fried. Things are both going supremely well at work, and at the same time, the crap just keeps getting higher and higher and i can’t seem to dig myself out of things. Finally got a little recognition for the work i’m doing, and then by the afternoon i was drowning again in things. Soooo while i’m still working on my sipdowns and the like, i’m also trying to make sure i have plenty of delicious teas at work to get me through the days. Today i remembered to add a small splash of maple syrup to this one for a tasty first tea today :)

but anyway…this tea? in typical peppermint patty (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peppermint_Patty) style… this tea is always a hit…mwahahaha ok no really…love this. will continue to stock this in my cupboard until i get tired of it which is likely to be never….tops most mint chocolate blacks that i’ve had. true. story.

Lala- i haven’t tried original….rwspberry is good but a little more sweet…the orange one has a nice kick to it
I enjoy beer recommendations with tasting notes, although this one doesn’t seem to be available near me
mmmmmmm so good. Bumping the rating up a little because this was delicious tonight….just the right blend of dark, coffee-like tea. I adore how dark and comforting this one is. for sure one that will continue to rotate in and out of my cupboard when the mood strike!
