Probably my all-time favorite tea from DavidsTea. It’s so deliciously nutty and the raisins add sweetness! Absolutely the best with milk and a little sugar. The worst thing about this tea is that because the Brazil nuts are heavy, it costs more for less tea. Gonna have to restock soon!

Took me awhile to figure out if I liked this one. Kind of like a floral earl grey tea. Good for first thing in the morning, and maybe afternoon high tea with the girls! I’ll have a chance to find out this weekend as I’m having some friends over for our own high tea! Making scones, tea sandwiches, and desserts! So fun! And sometimes, I think, yummier than going out to a tea place.

I love this fruity rooibos. Lupicia rooibos teas are so much smoother than other rooibos teas I’ve had and don’t leave a weird aftertaste. This one is perfect for an afternoon or evening respite.

One of my favorites from DavidsTea so far. Tastes exactly like chocolate cinnamon loaf from Starbucks. Yum!

I like this chai. The coffee rounds out the flavor so the spices aren’t too strong, but strong enough. Definitely can taste the cardamom more prominently. Good with milk and sugar!

Had this as a late morning pick-me-up. Hadn’t had it in awhile and I think I enjoyed it more today than I had in the past. Very subtle smooth peach flavor. Definitely need to try more Lupicia teas. Hoping my subscription for the newsletter brings me samples of new teas to try!

Love this rooibos. I think the green rooibos is a lot smoother and delicate than red rooibos. This tea made me like rooibos tea more. The fruity flavor also helped with that. This tea goes with everything and I can drink it at any time. Sweet, but not candy sweet.

Had my second cup this morning….never can decide whether I really like a tea until I’ve had my second cup. Really loved the smell out of the bag….very malty black tea smell. Once steeped, it reminded me of a strong Irish breakfast. Steeped it my usual 5 minutes for black tea and added my usual milk and sugar. Had that taste you get when you steep black tea a little too long. Not sure if I should try steeping it for less time or if I just don’t like it as much as other black teas. I prefer a really smooth black tea and this one wasn’t it.

This is one that loses its appeal if you add milk. Try it without next time, I suspect you’ll like it a lot more.

Thanks for the tip! I usually default with milk and sugar for black teas, but I’ll try this out!

Profile

Bio

Another profile facelift! My tastes have changed a lot from when I first discovered loose leaf tea.

I can trace my tea journey back to October 2012, when I discovered DavidsTea. Before that, I had the occasional cup and enjoyed high tea at An Afternoon to Remember, which has since closed.

I went through a period of wanting to try all the teas, and was really into flavored teas, especially dessert blacks, but my tastes have substantially changed over time.

I still enjoy the occasional flavored black or rooibos, but I’m more into unflavored black teas right now and recently, puerh. Chinese black teas are amazing…with their notes of chocolate or sweet potato, who needs a flavored tea? I had a much steeper learning curve when it came to puerh. I used to dump out cups of puerh for tasting like leather. Now, I am really enjoying them. I think it took finding good quality puerh and steeping them gong fu style to really enjoy them.

I also, on occasion, enjoy a good oolong, white, or green tea.

Favorite tea companies right now include: Mandala, Teavivre, Butiki, Golden Moon, Lupicia, and DavidsTea (for teaware mostly).

Just a note: I don’t rate my teas numerically because my iPad doesn’t like the scroll bar. Maybe someday that will change…hint hint, steepster! ;)

P.S. My profile picture is of one of my 2 cats, Holly, who is a little princess but very photogenic, and she loves boxes, including those that bring me tea! :)
