drank Chamomile by Tim Hortons

I am a huge fan of Chamomile teas!
Especially the ‘Organic Egyptian Chamomile’ from Davids
This one from Tims was alright.
The taste seemed somewhat artificial, and so did the colour of the tea, made me think it was processed more possibly.

Not terrible, but wouldn’t ever be my first choice.

Tims green.
Taste is rather dry and burnt.
Has no distinct flavour, atleast for a green tea.
Seems poor quality and cheap.

Buy if you must, if you want all those crazy benefits and have no qualiTea around.

drank Peppermint by Tim Hortons

Once again, I work at Tims, so I had the opportunity to try this tea.
Not being a fan of the other ones, I remembered this one from when I was a kid.
It was good. Or atleast in my memories.

Taste – Mild-moderate peppermint, depends on how you steep
however it tastes good, and you get what you want out of it, peppermint.

There is no way you can really hate this tea, it is what it is, and the quality seems okay.

drank Earl Grey by Tim Hortons

I had the chance to try the tea today, as I work at Tim Hortons, finding that the rest of their teas are mediocre. I have tried just about all the teas there, and since trying many teas from Davids and Teaopia, I feel as if the ones at Tims are cheap and low quality.

None the less I tried this tea.
It’s smell was rather flat, it was not something that would bright up your face.
Strong smell of burnt black tea and licorice.
Taste? I found it tasted nothing like some fine quality Earl Greys I had before, it was just plain and boring, tasteless.

Shame on you Tims.

drank Chai Tea by Tim Hortons

While I’ve pretty much converted to loose leaf, I do have to admit that this is one of my favourite bagged teas and definitely my go to when I hit up Timmies (which is almost every Saturday as work is right across the street). Its got a nice depth of flavour for a bagged tea and tastes very good with milk and sugar!

This is my favorite Tim Hortons tea. It does need to steep a while to get a good flavor or otherwise it taste like water. I find if you ad some sugar the spices are stronger. I always get compliments that it smells amazing, but it usually smells better then it tastes. So if your really looking for something mild and aromatic this is a good tea.

This is one of the worst Chai teas I’ve ever had. Another reviewer mentioned the anise flavor but I think its WAY too over powering. The licorice like flavor was all I could taste when I was drinking this. If you like strong licorice then this tea is for you, otherwise skip it.

drank Steeped Tea by Tim Hortons

I decided to pick up a Timmie’s Steeped Tea (1 cream, 2 sugars) with my lunch today, as part of my (delicious!) lunch combo. If you’re in a hurry or otherwise not keeping track of time, bagged tea may become over-steeped. Timmie’s steeped tea is a good option for on-the-go tea.

I usually find that the milk – or cream, or whatever they are using at Timmie’s – gives their steeped tea a strange taste. A few times before I have been given a cup of tea that tastes as though the milk in it has spoiled – not today! Today I was greeted by a warm and welcoming cup.

While the cream does have a strong effect on the tea, it is still a delightful drink – although, I should had asked for more sugar. There is an initial sweetness, but it does not linger.

Sadly, I stretched this cup out too long, and the last bits were rather cold, bringing out the tiniest bit of bitterness. I would not say that Timmie’s compares to a home-brewed cup, but it’s definitely a welcome treat on a cold day.

Recommended for those who want a good cup on the go.

I have found that I like milk better with my tea than cream, so I usually ask for milk at Timmies when I get steeped tea. Not the most amazing cuppa for sure, but you can’t beat the price.

Shizuka-NIX

That is the distinction I have found as well. Milk is much better. I didn’t realize at first that they had different options.

Plunkybug

Yeah, me neither, til I got tea for Beryl and asked how she wanted it, and she said with milk. So I got mine same as she did. :P

Why? Why are you so bad? I want you to be good. No – I don’t care about good. I will settle for decent. Serviceable, even. Right now, you are barely potable. Every time.

I bless the student who gave my mom a sampler box of Tim Horton’s teas however many moons ago, because I could have a cup of this instead of burnt Red Rose. A solid Earl, but nothing special.

Gross. I couldn’t finish the small cup I got. I was really tired and hungry, and usually food and tea tastes extra good at times like that, but this was so bad that nothing could save it. It was like dishwater.

For what it is, I definitely do like it. If this is all I had to drink, or the only option I had from a Tim Horton’s, I would go for this. It’s pretty tasty, and like most herbal infusions, it’s best to let it steep for a while for best taste and health benefits.

It’s not a fantastic cup, but it’s good. And given the quality of the other teas sold by the company, this one is quite nice.

drank Apple Cinnamon by Tim Hortons

Totally passable bagged tea. Actually for an apple tea it is pretty darn good. I am alway on the lookout for a good apple tea but it is an endless quest. There is a taste of dust from the cinnamon and I get some paper feel from the bag but it is better than many. It puts me in mind if their apple cider but with a but more spice and way less sugar. Still looking forward to going home to my real tea but this stuff will see me through.

So this isn’t actually so bad. The beau and I have been looking for a good apple tea (that is more cider-esque than anything else) for a while. We’ve had a few contendors, but they always seem to be get discontinued. We tried this bagged tea last evening, and I was relatively impressed by it. Might get some to have on hand for when we want something easy and appley. Also, stay away from Tim Hortons Chai Lattes, as I’m pretty certain that espresso or coffee or something else in that terribly bitter neighbourhood was added to mine, though I don’t know why. : (

I have to admit, I’m not big on Tim Hortins Tea’s, I’m more into their coffee (which is highly addictive). That being said, I do enjoy this tea a great deal! It’s my go to tea for sickness, stress, and when I’m at my parents place (since there is no David’s Tea in that area)
I’m a big fan of Chai in general, I very much enjoy a good spicy hearty tea.

Personally, I find adding sugar or some honey makes it all the more lovely!

We were starving at our movie today (The Help), so we stopped at the Timmy’s in the theater. Because it’s Canada…Tims are EVERYWHERE. Anyway, not my favorite tea, but it did hit the spot. Yum.

IllBeMother221B

Did you read the book? If so how did the film match up? As to the tea no one I know has ever enjoyed tea from them.

IllBeMother221B

I should clarify…no one I know on Steepster has ever enjoyed Tim Horton’s tea. :)

Daddyselephant

I was about halfway through the book when we saw the movie. Apparently a few things were different (according to my super picky sister in law and mother in law), but overall, it was a good match.

MaddHatter

Wifey you are quite right! A friend took me to Tim’s and I ordered orange pekoe and because I had heard the reviews from friends: “Not to be snobby, but if you have had good loose leaf tea, Tim’s is the sludge at the bottom of the basket.” (Wow, kiddo, a little harsh?)

It wasn’t great tea and I over steeped mine, but as you said aisling, it was good enough at that moment.

I normally am a stickler about reviewing teas straight on here, but I know this one is amazing with milk and sugar, and why mess with a good thing? It’s pleasantly spiced, though I could do with it being a little stronger (I suppose there’s a reason they allot two teabags to their larger cups) but it’s still quite cosy and good. I like letting this one steep for a long time, and pair it with plenty of milk and sugar. This is my go-to at Tims, and probably will continue to be such for a while. Mmmm…..

One of my preferred Timmies teas. I’m drinking a teabag of it at home right now, steeped in a cup (because that’s the way they did it there, I was afraid that one teabag wouldn’t do for a pot), with milk and brown sugar added.
I find it enjoyable, with a nice depth of flavour for a bagged tea.

I was extremely hungry this morning so on my way to work I stopped at Tim Hortons and got a bagel with English Breakfast Tea. For a ‘drive-thru’ bagged tea this is decent. It’s pretty bold and doesn’t leave a funky after taste and isn’t too brash and not bitter at all :)

Indigobloom

It’s better than the starbucks Awake tea, I think! but green teas… from Tims? ick!

I found it rather cute that I could find Timmies tea on this site and in fact I am happy I did. I think this tea is good. It’s one of those price/value deals, and TH definitely delivers. I loved this tea ever since it appeared on their menu (and that would be quite a long time ago already, none of us are getting younger) and it is definitely superior to their bagged tea.

Yea it’s not anything fancy, but its an honest cuppa and I love it. In fact I would say that as much as Timmies’ coffee is good, so is this tea. Neither are an epitome of luxury but both are true simple man beverages and sometimes simple is just what you need.

P.S.: Steep Time and Water Temp fields actually made me wonder what values TH uses. Probably something scientific and backed up by years of research and marketing.
