I’ve been drinking a lot of this lately. Convenience and a lack of kettle options at work means I’ll do anything for caffeine. It’s a long walk to work from the train as well (most of my thermos’s at home leak and I’ve yet to check out Evol Ving Ness’s Canadian Tire tip)

Anyhow. The boyfriend bought me a tea awhile back, and it was awful. It tasted really off, and not in a fake sugar kinda way. The tea tag was orange pekoe, so it wasn’t earl grey – I’m allergic.
It made me feel physically ill and I had to throw it out. Made me sad as we were at a vending event, the venue was freezing… I needed the warmth!

Canadian Tire tip? A thermos that doesn’t leak?

Indigobloom

Yep, apparently Canadian Tire has a thermos that doesn’t leak! Evol mentioned it was good for topping up your other thermos as it doesn’t have a good lid to sip from, just pour from (apparently steepster ate the note it was attached too, or my brain is lapsing cuz I can’t find it :/)

This was my morning cuppa this morning since I didn’t have time to brew one myself. It was this or an iced capp and I wanted less sugar and more . . soothing. For me Tim’s tea reminds me of Red Rose, nothing extraordinary but at the same time not a bad cup. It does when on the road or in a rush.

(Standard order is medium tea, milk, sugar, double cup, bag in.)

We were starving at our movie today (The Help), so we stopped at the Timmy’s in the theater. Because it’s Canada…Tims are EVERYWHERE. Anyway, not my favorite tea, but it did hit the spot. Yum.

IllBeMother221B

Did you read the book? If so how did the film match up? As to the tea no one I know has ever enjoyed tea from them.

IllBeMother221B

I should clarify…no one I know on Steepster has ever enjoyed Tim Horton’s tea. :)

Daddyselephant

I was about halfway through the book when we saw the movie. Apparently a few things were different (according to my super picky sister in law and mother in law), but overall, it was a good match.

MaddHatter

Wifey you are quite right! A friend took me to Tim’s and I ordered orange pekoe and because I had heard the reviews from friends: “Not to be snobby, but if you have had good loose leaf tea, Tim’s is the sludge at the bottom of the basket.” (Wow, kiddo, a little harsh?)

It wasn’t great tea and I over steeped mine, but as you said aisling, it was good enough at that moment.

Holy sugar batman! Ordered this one like I usually do, with two milk and one sugar, but man that sugar is front and centre stage and making this tea so sweet! I’m even adding the second tea bag to the cup to see if making the tea part a bit stronger will help me tone down the sugar? I know, strange logic, but I’m tired so, what can ya do?

Today, me and the little one are heading on our first big car ride. We’re travelling three hours east to go see the in-laws/his grandparents! I’m so excited to get away for a few days and to spenbd time with them. I’ve mentioned it before and I will again. My in-laws are the best. I love them and they have only seem out little man once! It was when he was a week and a half old and so tiny tiny tiny! I can’t believe how much he’s changed. He’s 7.5 weeks old now and 9lbs! Long way from 4.5weeks early and 4lbs 11oz!

I wonder if they put more than usual this time or your tastes are just different today, eh? Hope you enjoy your trip with your little one. Sounds like fun!

TheKesser

Thanks!
Yea I wonder too. I definitely don’t sweeten things the way I use to

This tea is so comforting for me. It reminds me of all the times that I’ve spent with my friends hanging out at Tim Hortons. I always order it steeped with cream and sugar (my local Tim’s never has Almond Milk in stock.) It’s so delicious, sweet and creamy, just how I like it.
I buy the K-Cups at the grocery store and pour the loose tea into a coffee filter for my one cup Melita and steep it at home where I can add my Silk Almond Vanilla Coffee Creamer. Tastes like home! There is just something so familiar, nostalgic and sentimental about this tea. I will always order it and I will always love it!

This is absolutely average tea but at it’s an old reliable, I guess. There’s nothing really to describe because I think most people have had a plain ol’ Orange Pekoe before. I think their “steeped tea” is this tea, too. Regardless of the quality, there’s something comforting about a warm cup of Timmie’s in your hands. It just makes everything better.

After my last tea, I wanted something much more tea-y. So, orange pekoe it is.
I’m thinking it would be better with milk and honey, but it’s not bad as-is, too. I think it would pair really well with something fruity.

My early morning git-up-n-go juice. Hit the drive-thru and get an XL with 2 milk and 2 sugar and I am good. Nothing outstanding, but definitely good. I tend to drink it with the bag in…taking the bag out while driving can be a dangerous thing to do!

Timmy’s tea… as addictive as their coffee! Drinking a large, 1 milk, 1 sugar.
