Yesterday was back to work for yours truly. There were stressful bits and good bits..but I’m tired and am glad I do not work again until Friday and get to stay home today while it is raining and gray outside.
Wanted to try the last of the new Winter teas from DT and am looking forward to this one.
It smells like chocolate/cocoa dark mostly..but the hazelnut wisps..that grabs me.Smells like Dark Hot chocolate ALMOST..it’s a long way from a boring cup of cocoa..I can tell.
My one touch Breville machine has just alerted me my steep is done. Let’s see if this one’s a winner of a position of tea prominence in my collection or tea to give away.
Now I don’t mind artificial flavor and tend to enjoy my flavored teas as much as the ones never touched by anything except sunshine and the hands of god. I don’t complain about it..It’s 2014 and dammit there are SO MANY CHOICES ..no point in being bitter( see what I did there?)
On to the tea!
it smells, once brewed VERY nutty and gently sweet.
Taste is interesting..there is a bit of a almost Splenda like aftertaste?? I don’t mind artificial tastes as I’ve pointed out but I’ve NEVER experienced one that TASTED like a sweetener MOSTLY and I hate HATE Splenda and this it tastes like robot . Now that is odd.I hate sweeteners that overwhelm the tea and this has done that tenfold. The whole point of me not sweetening my tea for the last 3 years and learning to let the tea speak not the sugar is to make it an experience not cheapen the hell out of a ‘could have been decent, but they tried too hard tea’. I mean if you LOVE splenda and sweeteners this tea will be GREAT for you.
First MAJOR disappointment of 2014.
ONLY GET THIS TEA IF YOU LIKE SPLENDA AND SWEETEN EVRYTHING. you’ve been warned.Lots of DT as artificial..but they’ve never sweetened in this obscene manner..color me totally disappointed and about to dump out an entire 3 cups ..wow DT…I can’t believe it.
I can’t get rid of the Splenda aftertaste….what a disaster.
