I finally caved and purchased a box of this tea. For months I’ve been searching for it in stores (I live in Canada), even contacting celestial seasonings with no luck. Normally you can buy Celestial Seasonings Tea in stores for like $4/box. With shipping I spent like $13 for a box of 20 tea bags, and it hurt to do so. But, the day I bought it I got a new job so I knew I could afford it, lol.
I’ve tried brewing this hot and then chilling it, but this tea is best cold brewed (5 tea bags per 2L pitchers, approx 12h). The tea does have the taste of orange but I’d say the tart hibiscus is more prominent. My husband drank 3/4 of the pitcher already and says he loves this tea. I like it too, but I want to try cold brewing Twinnings’ Mandarin orange rooibos blend (which does not have hibiscus) before I decide if this one is worth purchasing 6 boxes at a time to cut costs (found a seller on amazon.ca: selling 6 boxes for $14).

You are mightily determined! I really wish we got those holiday CS flavours, like the sugar cookie one. But not sure if I’d pay that much!
Oh my goodness, it’s only $2.69 USD at my local Wegman’s (I just looked it up). That really, really sucks. Do you live in a remote area, or is it not as widely available in Canada in general?
I get some of my teas from an online store called 4AllVitamins they have a decent selection of CS and Republic of Tea stuff that you can’t find in Canadian store. Plus their shipping is usually fairly reasonable.
Have you tried Celestial Seasoning’s Mandarin Orange spice? It doesn’t have Hibiscus, and pretty much tastes like sweet orange. The spices aren’t very noticeable at all, but it’s quite tasty.
@Fjellrev, I’ve had my eye on this tea for many months, so that’s how I justified spending as much as I did (plus the new job), lol
@Super Starling! I’m not in really that remote of an area. I’m in a town of about 110k people. I think it’s just not that available here in Canada.
@Jillian, thanks for the tip! I will look at it :)
@rosebudmelissa, thanks for the recommendation! I think I’ve seen that one in the store closest to my apartment so I may try it out!
That’s awesome, thanks Jillian!
Hey, sometimes you have to treat yourself when you’re working hard, Kristal. :D
So I’ve tried cold brewing twinnings HONEYBUSH mandarin orange blend (not rooibos, my bad) and it’s quite lovely! Gunna try hot brewing it then cooling it down for a little extra “oomph”, but otherwise I love it and that’ll be a staple iced tea for the rest of the summer :) (plus I love it hot too!).
