Second infusion was very good. The bergamot influence was less than the first infusion but the taste of the tea was more forward.

Smooth and tasty, unlike any yellow tea that I’ve tried. Full-bodied, some chocolate, plenty of chrysanthemum. Yum.

Thanks, Clare, for sending me this sample. This became an instant essential within one sip! Talk about a tropical vacay in your teacup, this is the winner! I’m a nut for anything pineapple (even on pizza, I’m from SoCal) and the flavor in this tea is outstanding. I taste a hint of papaya, too, which pairs well with one of my fave fruits. The green tea base is light and refreshing, so the tea flavor doesn’t crowd the fruit flavors. Overall, this is just a refreshing tea!

Uniquity

LOVE pineapple on pizza. It goes on almost all of ours.

KeenTeaThyme

I also like to add strawberry slices in the summer – with the pineapple, maybe a couple banana peppers too. :) But hey, I saw a steak&cheese pizza being advertised the other day!

Uniquity

We made a pizza with garlic olive oil, loose sausage, more garlic, spinach and cheese recently. That was a good one, though not that unconventional. We do a homemade pizza once a week…Thank God for my Kitchen Aid stand mixer!

ColumbiaKate

Great to hear I picked another good one. I love pineapple on pizza as well. Something about warming that flavor brings out the sweetness of it.
We get ready-made pizza dough at Trader Joe’s and do Calzones at the Teahouse. All kinds of fillings. Last week it was the thin sliced ham and pinapple with the tomato sauce and cheese…this week vegetarian.

We are heading out to run a few errands in just a moment, but, I thought I’d sit down and enjoy a quick cup of tea first. Delicious bacon flavor that I’ve enhanced with a pinch of sea salt. I do wish there was a bit more chocolate flavor… but then, that is a frequent issue with me and chocolate!

Fairyfli

That sounds like such a scary tea… not sure if I could do it or not!

Cofftea

So good! …and I don’t even like lapsang souchong.

I really didn’t expect to like this. I got this as a sample in my last order and it’s been sitting in my desk drawer ever since. I smelled it a couple of times and I got lots of grapefruit scent… and I’d throw it back in the drawer. But today, I finally committed to it. And wow… I actually love this. I might have added a fair amount of agave nectar to it, but I am getting super sweet ruby red grapefruit and it’s tasty. This might be awesome as an iced tea in the summer.

So, this wasn’t the perfect steep… my being at work and all. I had no teaspoon to measure with and was using an extra large mug, and had no timer… which could be why this turned out to be a lot lighter than what I expected, based on previous comments, and the way it smells(not bad but not heavenly either).
If you like goji berries, this is a good tea. I can actually taste it in the tea! It isn’t an overpowering taste, and kindof earthy… which I think works well in a tea. There is a touch of berry-sourness in the aftertaste but I can’t be sure that is the goji…. I’d like to see what it does to an oolong base to.
Also, there is a minty aftertaste that accompanies the goji. Is that the St. Johns Wort? I have no idea what it tastes like… but it isn’t bad! I quite enjoy it. Interesting that it doesn’t hit you upfront like most mint does.
Overall a very smooth and enjoyable tea. Not my go to tea for flavour, but maybe for the pick-me up effect. Not that I dislike the taste, it just isn’t my fave. I may up this later.
Oh, and I used half a packet of sugar… I don’t think it would have done well otherwise.

I find the “funky” ginseng flavor of this too strong when brewed straight, so last night I threw a bag into the water when steaming some asparagus. The end result was a hint of flavor but nowhere near as strong as when brewed. Success! Hopefully some of the green tea & ginseng goodness infused themselves in to my veggies :-)

I needed clarity this morning, so I grabbed this. It also just happens to be the review that published today: http://sororiteasisters.com/2011/04/05/achieve-clarity-vanilla-earl-grey-from-teamotions/

Helly, My Precious.

Oh, I do so love you. Juicy, flavourful, soothing. I should probably break out of my tea routines, but I just don’t want to. It’s so good to be in a rut, sometimes!

I generally like a stronger tea for breakfast and English breakfast sometimes seems weak to me. Some Irish breakfasts, like Stash, have a bit of a note that I like. This Irish breakfast is strong like others but without that top note. Like someone else said it is good for my morning buzz and a step above grocery store teas. I left the bag in the pot and the tea did not change over time.

Brewed per instructions. Nice, lighter tea.

I’m never really wowed by Twinings teas for some reason. This is nice enough, but not really anything special about it.

drank Shalimar Oolong by ESP Emporium

This cup is more floral and rosy today for some reason, though there’s definitely tropical fruit (primarily mango) underlying it all. It’s fitting in well with my recent kick of floral teas. I’m really liking this one, so I’m going to bump it up a few notches on my rating system. I like that it’s an Oolong because I think it goes well with the delicate flavors; a black tea might overwhelm it.

Just opened the package – what a strong smell from the bergamot oil. I enjoyed the first infusion. Not sure this is the “best Earl Grey ever” but it is good.

I really enjoyed this one. The tastes mixed together just right and mmmm….so yummy. I love vanilla, and the grenadine made it perfect. Definitely need to buy more.

drank Organic The Skinny by DAVIDsTEA

I’ve had this sitting in my tea pantry for over 8 months and finally decided to try it today.

As a loose tea this smells like a creamy, orange-y black tea with a tiny bit of ginger spiciness but it brews up very mellow and you don’t taste the pu’erh too much (which is a good thing since I’m not particularly fond of pu’erh). I can’t really describe the flavour since it’s not too distinct but I don’t find it as citrusy as other reviewers have commented. I let this steep for a good 7 minutes to get the full flavour and beautiful colour out and it can easily been steeped a second time. I like this after a heavy, greasy meal – I feel like it helps rinse some of the grease out of my system.

I can’t remember who sent me this sample with other assorted teas – Meghann M? JoeCool (Nichole)? Sorry guys – too many tea packages! But thanks to whomever shared this from her stash! UPDATE: Thanks, QuiltGuppy!

For something called “extreme” this didn’t really seem so… sure, it tasted like vanilla, but I wasn’t that impressed with the taste. It does taste like vanilla & green tea, and the vanilla is of the regular soft-serve ice-cream variety, not so much in flavor…

I don’t know. But this was just a sample to try, so it’s not like I would never order from American Tea Room again…

QuiltGuppy

You’re welcome! :)

KeenTeaThyme

Holy heck, I was ckueless – sorry QuiltGuppy!

QuiltGuppy

No problem. I’m not a fan of vanilla, so I slipped it in hoping that you were. :)

The cold has won for today. Home with a tea that reminds me of being sick as a kid only 100000000000000000 times better, Mountain Malt. I’m sure a medicinal tisane with no milk or sugar would be better for me physically, but oooooooooh this is so perfect for me emotionally :) Rich malty comfort.

I don’t think I steeped this long enough, but it was still tasty! We picked up a couple single bags of this to try a Monk’s Blend before we invested in some looseleaf, but I enjoyed the light vanilla flavour of it.
