Cold Brew!
I’m not gonna lie – I was nervous about this tea. When I smelled the dry leaf it was like someone was slapping me across the face with a handful of lavender. Deb’s lavender blends have totally been too strongly floral for me in the past, so I kind of saw this intense aroma as confirmation that would be the case here.
However, it’s actually surprisingly well balanced and very delicious. The lavender is certainly present and not to be missed, but it adds a pleasant floral quality to what is otherwise a sweet and jammy blueberry blend with a decent amount of round body from the black tea. I really don’t get anything from it, at least as a cold brew, that gives me “Angel Food Cake” vibes apart from that soft sweetness – but as a blueberry lavender blend I’m actually pretty happy!
I still have reservations about how intense the lavender flavour might come out as a hot tea, so I may very well finish off this whole sample as a cold brew since I know I enjoy it so much prepared this way.
