I got my swap from yssah today! Of course I had to try this one first, I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect blueberry tea. Plus I adore Della Terra’s Blueberry Creme and hoped this would be similar.

This smells very strongly of blueberry, but there’s not much blueberry flavor in the brew. Funnily enough, it doesn’t smell of cream at all but the flavor of cream is so strong and delicious! Creamy vanilla, it reminds me of an EG cream in its richness. There’s a bit of blueberry, but I really do wish there was a little more. It’s still quite tasty though! I think I’ll try mixing it 50/50 with the DT blend, which is heavily blueberry but doesn’t have quite as much cream as I’d like.

yssah

i was actually thinking that these are good teas for blending with other teas coz the flavor is so stable :)

I woke up too late to go to my stupid lab since the instructor is a rude jerk who won’t count people as there if they’re 5 min late. Then with 9 minutes to spare I realize I have an email from the management that there’s a water break at my building and the water’s going off at 10:45. I filled my kettle to the brim, I filled my Brita pitcher up, and then there’s about 80 oz of water to clean out infusers left. Whooo. I’m set.

This is from yssah, thank you!

This reminds me of Blueberry Zabaglione but a lot more subtle. Blueberry’s there, but it’s not predominant until it cools, the vanilla cream flavor is more prominent.

I like it just fine this way, but I wasn’t hoping for strong blueberry I suppose. I like the base tea to this, there was just this tinge of maltiness to it that was really nice.

Thank you Yssah for including this sample with the Pear White from Ovation you ordered for us. :) I really like the little baggie it came in. It’s the perfect size for a sample of tea. :)

The smell is quite appealing, but I don’t know if I’d describe it as blueberries and cream. It is vaguely desserty. Tastes more like rock sugar than anything else. The tea base is quite good though. I forgot about the tea for a good 15 minutes while it steeped. No bitterness or astringency to speak of.

yssah

Haha, tastes are really different! Thank you for rating the tea, Mercuryhime!

btw, the baggies are biodegradable too :)

Mercuryhime

They sure are. :) I’m glad to have tried it though because the idea of a blueberry cream tea would have haunted for until I tasted it.
I figured they were probably biodegradable when I saw the green strip on it. :)

yssah

haunted! lol…you are funny ^^

I wanted a creamy tea this morning, but not an earl grey, and I remembered that Yssah kindly sent me a sample of this one with the Harney teas I ordered from her! thanks so much! This reminds me of the Della Terra Blueberry cream, just without the rooibos and maybe with a bit less flavor. It’s good though! I think the black tea, blueberry and cream flavors all share an equal balance. It’s very sweet! I wish I had ordered some of this with the other teas!

I’m starting my day with a bit of this – it’s a bit bitter – but not overly -so. I can’t really taste much “cream” but the blueberry notes are there! The black tea base is strong and I like that! Not too shabby! :)

This sample was sent from yssah. Thank you!

This is a really nice tea. I taste vanilla more than blueberry, but the blueberry is definitely there. It’s more like a good vanilla tea with hints of blueberry. The base tea is also very good, so even though the berry flavor isn’t as present as I would like it is still easy to enjoy the tea.

I have enough of my sample left for one more cup (which I’ll probably have tomorrow) and if I remember I’ll add sugar and cream to my cup. This is a tea asking for additions.

I don’t have much to say about this, my teas all got tainted by the flavors and smells of the other teas in the package so this just kind of tasted like a weird mix of fruit and flowers. All of them tasted the same so I had to get rid of them. Also my desk drawer smells like the fruitpourri too.

Aroma: Attractive. I had a feeling this was gonna be a good one when I was just scooping out a sample for a swap.

Flavor: It did not disappoint! I like this and would buy it again before I run out of this.

I just want to say that my first EG Cream felt kinda weird like “Is this how it is supposed to taste?” but this one was….“Mmmmm, blueberries and cream!”

I think this is better taken while warm…tho it is still yummy after cooling down :)

GiggleGoddess

What are the steeping parameters on this one?

yssah

the usual…3mins @212F for blacks. longer or shorter if you desire as this one doesnt get bitter easily, the only one with weird parameters is the gynostemma. of course greens and whites are usually marked at higher temperatures than usually recommended, and some blacks benefit from 208F more than 212F esp H&S (took me a while to figure that out)

This was a free sample from Yssah with my Ovation package. Thanks!

It semlls quite strongly of blueberries, and it was in such a cute little bag that I thought I would try this out right away.

Once steeped it smells quite strongly of blueberries, but the taste is quite mild and relaxing. There is a lot of creaminess in there, with a hint of vanilla. The black base is very smooth with only a touch of astringency.
