Candy Cane Organic Rooibos

I have so much of this that I forget about it, because it’s sitting in a HUGE tin parked under my tea bags and sweetener. So today I pulled it out, because gosh darn it, it’s yummy for when I want something with zero caffeine. A bit too sweet today though, even though the creamy candy cane part was delish.

OMG this is sweet. Like really, REALLY sweet. When I took my first sip I was expecting far more mint but this really puts the “candy” in candy cane!

I want to love this but I can’t help but wish for less stevia because I am picking up on that and not much of anything else. The peppermint is almost a background flavor.

I am sorry MissB because I know how much you love this but it is really not for me. Thank you for sharing though because at least now I know that.

2nd rooibos tea blend of the afternoon. I haven’t been drinking this much since the holidays. This is one tisane I actually prefer to underleaf a bit since I find the mint so overpowering. There isn’t even any actual peppermint here, just candy cane flavoring. I really like this with soymilk and today I tried it with a sprinkle of cinnamon and some cacao powder — nice. Maybe I’ll try making a hot chocolate with it soon.

Candy cane latte anyone? I really need to get that milk frother I’ve had my eye on…

Yup! This smells and tastes like Candy Cane! I’m super excited S&V made this with a GREEN Rooibos Base…I don’t think I have had a Candy Cane Flavored GREEN Rooibos before so that’s cool!

There is that lovely candy cane flavor with a sweet green rooibos but there is also a hint of stevia in there and S&V did the Stevia RIGHT :) Not by over doing it! YAY! The Red and White Cornflower petals are more for show, I think…but I am cool with that.

This is tasty! I’m partial because I am a MINT freak but I love this!

HOLY MOLY this is liquid Candy Cane. Another sample from the ever generous Nicole I have to say, that i totally don’t mind this tea but man you only want to drink a little at a time because it really is like liquid candy cane. heh I enjoyed this one and it certainly put me in the holiday mood. The scent is 100% candy cane and the taste is no different :)

Sweet and minty … I found myself wishing the stevia wasn’t in there when I started brewing it, but after tasting it, I like that the stevia is a light addition. Just enough to enhance the sweetness and give this the candy cane taste that it needs.

Not bad at all – a very enjoyable green rooibos.

I chose to try this tonight because it was one of my few caffeine-free holiday teas, but I wasn’t expecting to love it so much! This has some pretty amazing staying power, which left my mouth tingling after each sip. And the flavor? It really is like a high quality candy cane, with just enough kick to perk you up and calm you down at the same time.

I wonder if my husband would like some in his Christmas stocking?

I don’t know if this is my fave tisane. Usually I love minty teas, but somehow… I dunno, it’s not quite reaching that place for me.
It’s probably the green rooibos, as I felt it really overshadowed the cup and didn’t blend nicely with the mint.
With minty teas, I’m not used to adding sweetener as mint is typically pretty flavourful on its own. In this case though, I made an exception and that is when I got the candy cane reference. Yup! bona fide peppermint stick! and then I drained the rest of my cup.
So in the end… I managed to find me a nice dessert. I wouldn’t mind another sample closer to next Christmas.

On a side note… I’ve launched my blog!! Nothing to do with tea mind you, so bear that in mind. Well, I’ll probably mention it here and there, but its more about my career in HR than tea and the two don’t often interlace.

I’ve been drinking this at work recently, in an attempt to get it near a sipdown. While it’s still got a lot of mint flavour to it, it’s definitely not as strong as it used to be. In my first note, I was pretty overwhelmed with the punch the mint packed. Now, it’s much, much more subtle. That does allow more of the vanilla creaminess to come out, though, so I’m not too sad that it’s starting to fade a little. It tastes more like candy cane now than it used to, that’s for sure.

I still think this is one of the prettiest teas I’ve seen, with it’s green mint, creamy green rooibos, and pretty red flowers. Probably not one I’d restock, simply because I’m a little sad about how quickly the flavours seemed to deteriorate in this and all of the other teas I picked up in my first S&V order. Their packaging needs to improve.

A nice tea, though. A must try for any candy cane fan.

I can see why MissB loves this one so! I too enjoy mint tea and this one is a nice caffeine free blend that is soothing and flavorful… that’s the short version ;)

Dry it smells lightly of sweet peppermint. I think this is my first green rooibos, and there are little flecks of red to make this feels like Christmas time… although it would be good anytime.

When first steeped and still hot, I tried this w/o my normal sugar, and ended up adding just a pinch with this one. I could’ve probably done w/o, but wanted to see how much it brought out the true candy cane flavor. This tea was minty, but not overdone, and very much in the candy cane flavor.. not just pure peppermint. I don’t know how to describe the difference, but somehow, unless it’s a mind thing, it seems more like the candy version of peppermint… Yum!

I really enjoyed the lingering coolness in my mouth after each sip that you would also notice after eating a peppermint candy. I don’t always get that sensation after other peppermint teas, I’m not sure the difference, but I found it enjoyable.

I can see myself reaching for this one when I want something light, without too many flavors… or too strong of flavors, sitting around thinking about Christmas with a hot mug of it in hand. I could also see this one maybe being really refreshing iced on a hot day… I might have to find out, that minty cool aftertaste just might hit the spot.

Major backlog on this one! I can’t believe I kept forgetting to make a note on this when MissB sent me one of her favorites! So sorry! Thanks for sharing and introducing me to this one! & Simpson & Vail (Hubby & I also love the cinnamon chocolate brownie!).
