Gave this a try this morning and was pleasantly surprised. The rooibos and root beer flavors went well together, I added a little sugar and a splash of milk.
I don’t taste Girl Scout Thin Mints, as others have stated, but I do taste a very mild mint flavor mixed with black tea. I’m having a hard time picking up on the chocolate in this tea, perhaps I need to mix it up a little when I brew it next. I may toss in some extra peppermint next time I brew this, I like strong flavors.
I admit to buying this because Captain Picard likes his tea hot and of the earl grey variety. This is my first earl grey so take this with a grain of salt. Smelling the tea in the tin gave me high hopes, I enjoy strong flavored teas, but after steeping I find this tea to be pretty mild with only a hint of bergamont coming through. I added a tea spoon of sugar to liven this up a bit. Like others have mentioned, a shorter steep time is probably best fo this tea.
Wow, this tea is intense… very strong cinnamon flavor and very sweet. No sugar/sweetener needs to be added. If you’ve ever had the cinnamon bear candies then you know how this tastes. My only complaint would be the residue that gets left in the pot after brewing this stuff — it’s rather gritty.
I went through a box of this last week while working on a project. A little too mild for me when mixed with milk and sugar, I was hoping for something a little bite to it. Overall I enjoyed this tea and would buy it again.
Very smooth green tea… lots of mint flavor with just a hint of vanilla. My current favorite morning tea.
