Tea in a suitcase

If you were going on vacation and only had room in your luggage for 6 of your favorite teas, what ones would you bring?

I would never be able to choose so would probably pick six random teas.

There’s just too many teas to choose from! I’d probably lean towards rolled oolongs though. They usually come in individual vacuum sealed packets that are less prone to being crushed in transit.

A Rizhao green, dragonwell, Sencha, raw pu-erh, milk oolong , & Lapsang Souchong black.

Well, that’s what comes to mind. The actually type of tea might change based on how I would feel at the time but it would probably stay 3 green, 1 raw puerh, 1 oolong , & one black.

All those selections sound delicious and some of them are my favorites, also!! Just waiting for the vacation, lol!

If I could only bring six, I better be going to a place where I can buy more.

I’d probably go with stuff I can steep with uncertain water temperatures, so blacks and ripe puer.

Great idea!

I would buy a bigger suitcase or leave some clothes/junk I don’t really need behind…

Hadn’t thought of that one! You are right! Your favorite tea is vital!

That would depend on what teaware I could bring with me. Most of the time it’s a glass tea tumbler so I would bring a couple of oolongs to brew grandpa style and either a dragonwell or teabags filled with sencha.

I love a good oolong!

For travel I usually lean towards teas I know cold-steep well so all I need to bring is a travel mug and filterbags if I’ll be drinking rooibos. I prefer to keep it simple when I travel and it’s very rare I’m someplace where I know I’ll have hot water. For my trip to France I brought along a lot of oolong (because it’s easy to cold steep in a travel mug,) one herbal (I think it was Della Terra’s Lemon Chiffon,) and Harney & Son’s Paris (because I wanted to be cheesy and get a picture of me drinking Paris in Paris.) Usually I take some Earl Grey with me, but I actually picked some up from Mariage Frères during that trip. I try and keep my flavor choices down to 3 and seek out local tea wherever I’m at, although that isn’t always possible.

Love all your choices! Great inspiration!

I’d cancel my vacation or go down with the fire.

Last time I went on vacation, I brought over a dozen with me. They all went in my carry-on. My bf thought I was mad for about a second. Then, he remembered me.

Haha! Tea lovers are the best!

I’ve never packed any tea for travel, I just consume the various locally available drinks.
