A classic black tea produced at the Rembeng estate in India’s state of Assam in northeastern India, near the banks of the Brahmaputra River. The Rembeng estate is credited with pioneering organic tea production in Assam. This organic and Fair Trade Certified tea is composed of finely twisted leaves with occasional golden, downy tips. Its full-bodied red-brown infusion does not disappoint, exemplifying the character of a high-quality Assam tea – very flavorful with rich maltiness and a good coppery finish.

This has a slight bakey smell to it and the color of the liquid is lovely…a dark reddish-brown-copper.
WOW! The taste…WONDERFUL! I’m not getting any astringency at all and it’s quite smooth but also a little malty! I really like this!!!!
My first “real” cup of tea of the day… this afternoon, hubby took me out to lunch and I did drink their iced tea, but it was nothing spectacular. At least I did get some caffeine though and am not suffering now from caffeine withdrawal.
Anyway… this tea is fantastic. It has a very lovely finish – it isn’t as astringent as some Assam teas, it has more of a coppery like finish that melds well with the slightly acidic/citrus-y note that I am getting from the tea. It is lovely, full-bodied and flavored, with a nice, robust malty note and a very pleasant baked quality to it. Everything that I want from an Assam and even more!
This is my first time trying this tea (I tend to spend all my time on green teas), and I’m enjoying it a lot. It has a very classic “assam” taste, without too much astringency (especially with my somewhat non-standard brewing parameters). It has a very rich malty base to it that makes it a nice full-bodied tea. In a weird way, it makes me nostalgic for my trip to India (which only lasted 2 weeks, but definitely made an impression), and also has put me in the mood to do some yoga – so I’ll talk to you later!

I’ll have to remember to use one of my white cups next time, because the color coming out of the teapot spout looked much darker and more red than I’m used to, and I’d really like to see it. The flavor was very rich, very smooth and pretty malty. I’m a fan.
Just got up and remembered that I had this sitting in my kitchen. Being that I LOVE black tea this, along with the Pu-erh, are now my favorite teas. Its just an absolutely delicious black tea. Smokey and smooth not bitter at all. I’m so happy I just had a cup of this.
