Peony White Needle

White Tea by Imperial Tea Garden

Peony White Needle is a premium grade, loose leaf white tea
from China.  This rare and exotic white tea is from the Chongqing
Province.  The needle shaped leaves are covered with delicate
hairs that provide the tea connoisseur with a delicate lingering fragrance and fresh sweet mellow taste.   The rules for picking Peony White tea are strictly enforced.  Only leaves picked between March 15 and April 10 are used.  Harvesting does not commence unless the leaves are dry and void of any morning dew.  No leaves are accepted if partially open or damaged in any way.  It is no wonder Peony White Needle ranks so high as a source for powerful antioxidants.  With polyphenol levels of 12.5% by dry weight, this is truly a gourmet white tea for the connoisseur and health conscious individuals alike.

Rumpus Parable

4.5g to 12oz water.

Little to no scent.

The taste is quite odd and yummy, both. It is very vegetal over-all and has a faint taste like dirt in the back of the mouth. This may sound not-good, but no, it just makes it an interesting cup.

This tea is also quite astringent under the tongue and in the back of the throat.

I will tinker with steeping times. This one is quite different.
