In anticipation of Butiki Teas one day sale tomorrow, I had a little photoshoot with this GORGEOUS model of a tea. Wow! I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful tea to be my muse. Seriously.

Do you like cantaloupe? No, seriously, do you like it? Even just a little bit? If so, I advise you drop whatever it is you’re doing, even reading this sad excuse for a review, and buy this tea now if you haven’t done so already.

The dry leaf is beautiful. The helichrysum evokes images of breathtaking meadows. And the smell is EXACTLY like cantaloupe.

I brewed up a couple cups worth and watched as the leaves gently expanded. The mouthwatering aroma of cantaloupe filled my kitchen as I anxiously waited to take the first sip.

It tastes a lot like how it smells. Actually, I think it’s even juicier. I don’t think I could ever add anything to this. I don’t really get any creaminess though. It’s more like fresh, crisp cantaloupe.

If you’re a melon fan of any kind, (I’m sure) trying this tea would be a must.

Seriously how many times this week am I going to sip something and have my first response be “is this tea for real?!” Wow! The tea I actually wanted has gone MIA so I grabbed something else I had yet to try, feeling still in a melon mood since yesterday.

Just the smell of the loose leaf tea in the bag alone is good. I steeped it to the parameters, 3 1/2 minutes with something around 180 degree water.

This tastes like you’d expect, but even better, it tastes like real cantaloupe. It even smells just like the real thing. And while it’s certainly creamy enough, I had to see what it’d be like with a touch of coconut milk creamer. It definitely just turned up the melon flavor and has given the tea an almost ice cream like mouthfeel.

That kind of took away from the white tea, but I think it adds a nice light base with a bit of natural sweetness. This definitely doesn’t need any sugar.

Resteeps to come, for sure. Amazing stuff. This will be repurchased as soon as I’m out of what I have.

Second steep: about 4 minutes, probably more because I needed to have actual ice cream in the meantime. Less creamy, so I added the creamer again, but now it almost tastes more like melon than the first steep. There is a nice floral flavor too, I’m guessing from the flowers…that reminds me, the lilies I planted back in April FINALLY have started to bloom: http://instagr.am/p/LtY1JBpa6v/ I think I like this steep even better than the first one!

All the hype has came down to this one moment. I just got my expedient package of gracious samples from Stacy at Butiki Teas.‘We was giddy as schoolgirls reading the names of and smelling the selections recieved. The leaves are beautiful and you can see that there was great care taken in the packaging not to damage them. On with te drink.
Dry leaf smells scrumpteous,though I’m running off of memory. You see, my wife whisked the samples from the mailbox and started the tea in a flurry whilest I was waking. I got a quick whiff and then the finished product thrust in my face. That aside I still have a great tasting note to share (great in the sense of the tea, not my writing). Color is a golden brown. Due to just waking I won’t bother mentioning wet smell(nose wasn’t working yet).
First taste I am impressed by just how how creamy this really is. A vanilla flavor almost sweet enough to compare to ice cream, yet still light and airy. Speaking of that there’s a subtle silky dryness with thirst quenching attributes. This tea is a gulper!
It took a few drinks for the melon to come out, but it definitely showed up. The afterflavor is pleasant and leaves you wanting more. As I said in my last note I don’t gravitate toward flavored teas normally, but maybe I will start to branch in that direction.I’m getting ready to start my third steeping. I’ve been dying to try this tea—I love melon, it’s probably my favorite fruit flavor, both for teas and just for eating! I was lucky enough to get a sample of this from Kittenna in my swap with her, and then I got some more only a few days later from Stacy with my Butiki order! Of course I was over the moon, but somehow I hadn’t tried it out until today.

I cold brewed this with 1 small scoop in a tall glass of filtered water for about 16 hours or so: I was worried it might be a little weak because I used very little tea, but it is amaaaazing. The cantaloupe is the freshest fruit flavoring I’ve ever had in a tea, it legitimately tastes like fresh cantaloupe juice. The cream is very subtle and adds a hint of softness and a rich mouthfeel, and the white base sparkles. This is an exceptional blend, and of course now I want to brew some up hot just to compare…. but a tea this special is definitely not an everyday luxury.

First review. Visually this is the prettiest loose leaf tea I’ve had. It almost looks like baby’s breath laying on some grass. The liquor is lovely yellow and the fragrance is truly real deal melon. You know that by now I’m excited to try this tea. Cantaloupe in the Springtime and Cream! Uh!
The first taste is heavenly, smooth and creamy with a cross between cantaloupe and honeydew melon. You would expect a nice light flavor but this is more than that. The melon coats your mouth with silky smooth flavors and lingers there a minute, continuing to remind you of the creaminess. The next time I have this tea will be with my son next week. I am going to have salty Halloumi cheese from Cyprus which you can pan fry for breakfast with pita bread and olives. This Cantaloupe and Cream Tea would be delicious to play against the cheese. This is a superior melon tea. I’ve tried others that fall flat by comparison. This is very good!

This really is a perfect tea to represents eight milking maids. It’s so creamy and the cream taste here reminds me very much of the flavor of raw milk. I have not consumed a lot of raw milk, but, there were a couple of times in my youth when I visited a neighbors farm at breakfast time and I was treated to a glass of raw milk.

And the cantaloupe is amazing in this as well. The moment I poured the hot tea into my teapot, I could smell the cantaloupe – the aroma filled my kitchen. The flavor of the cantaloupe develops, with the first few sips of this being more about the cream than the cantaloupe, and now that I’m mid-way through my cup, the cantaloupe seems a bit stronger than the cream.

So yummy. YUM!

This one is from CrowKettle and am I ever glad I got a sample of this! It’s everything that I’d hoped it to be. I’m on my phone now, but will write a more in depth review from my computer later.

Ok, so it is later. I was working today, then got dinner and went to a friend’s house to watch the new episode of Doctor Who, so I just got home, and I am still thinking of this tea. Actually, I mentioned how good it smelled and tasted to my co-workers today and they were all like, “You must really like that tea because you’ve talked about it 4 times already” or something like that.

Anyhow, like many people have said thus far, the tea itself, with the flowers, is quite lovely, and if anything evokes spring, it is this tea. And wow, what a gorgeous day to initiate this tea, too. We have had a string of really nice days lately (I hope it stays!!). The first thing that you notice when you open the bag, is the sweet and fresh real cantaloupe smell. The eyes see the leaves and the nose gets hit with the lovely scent. I’ve always felt that cantaloupe is sweet and a little bit floral. A bit like nectar or honey…and white tea is the perfect tea to blend this with too, I think.

Brewed, you get a pale yellow infusion, and the scent just wafts up into your nose and intoxicates you to the core. Seriously. Cuz all I could think about was how good this smelled and tasted. I admit freely that I do have a sweet tooth, so I do usually add sugar to my teas, though I have been working on reducing the amount. I think though, that in this case, adding it only intensifies the nectar qualities, and makes the melon juiciness just pop and explode across the tongue. Now in terms of cream, I can’t really taste cream per se, but I can pick up just a general smooth feel to it. Part of me wonders how this would be with a touch of milk or even cream. I know milk is usually for darker teas, but ever since DAVIDsTEA suggested adding milk and sugar to Buttercream, I have not been afraid to add milk to white teas where I feel the taste and texture will enhance the tea. I bet that this tea would be even more amazing with just a touch of honey instead of the sugar…perhaps even an orange blossom honey. I get my honey locally, but I am out, so this reminds me I need more.

Anyway, I am so so so grateful I got to try this tea. I think that I am gonna need this for the summer. I might just have to put in an order with Butiki now that I have had something I like, and that far exceeds my expectations. Thanks again CrowKettle!!!!

I adore the honeydew melon Melona, a kind of Korean ice cream bar, and this amazing tea tastes near identical to it, except I may like this more. Even though I was drinking this straight I felt guilty about it- I kept thinking to myself “haven’t I had enough cups of ice cream already today?” I couldn’t, and still can’t, believe that this delicious tea isn’t loaded with creamy calories. Its milky richness and green fruitiness is a real treat.

While I don’t mind the addition of soy or dairy milk, The teas I most value are the ones where don’t have to add a thing. This is one of those sought after cups that wants for nothing. It’s mind blowing how leaves, hot water, and some flavours (all vegan in this case) can create an ‘image’ as luxurious and sensational as cream. Never fails to impress me.

I won’t ramble on because I’m a clumsy writer and others have described this tea in greater loving detail. However, if you like fruity ice cream and haven’t picked some of this up already then I can’t give a stronger recommendation.

I received enough of Cantaloupe & Cream tea to get one big mug.I need to warmly thanks the generous Azzrian who sent me all the rest of her bag.
I was drinking my tea as if it was a liquid treasure …I think it is, really.
As far as I think about Cantaloupe I’ve always liked it …wherever it was from…Cavaillon or from Charentes…The aroma is so wonderful, so perfectly delicate.
This is exactly what I got in my mug : a wonderful melon taste as I got a perfect melon scent while infusing.
Regarding the cream…I am not sure I got it but this is a mellow tea, very smooth.
The dry leaves were so beautiful it was exactly as having a little garden in my infuser.
This one is in my shopping list now.

There is something I noticed with Butiki teas : for some reasons I prefer their teas warm and not hot…I am definitively not like Tony Curtis & Jack Lemmon !

Here’s another backlog while we’re at it.

This one came from Hesper June and is another one of these hugely popular Butiki blends.

Personally I have to say I was a little doubtful as I’m not very fond of white tea these days, and especially not Bai Mu Dan which for me often tastes strongly of courgettes. I like courgettes, but I don’t like my tea to taste like them. It seems like BMD is the standard white tea to flavour, so I’m crossing my fingers and hoping for the best here.

The leaf smelled faintly of chamomille and vaguely of cantaloupe, and after steeping it was primarily a cantaloupe aroma. There was also a sort of thick, viscous smell to it, which I think must be the cream element. Underneath it all there were notes of something kind of spicy which I could only imagine must be the base. Strongly suspect BMD at this point.

First sip only strengthened this supicion. Why hello there mr Courgette! Fancy meeting you here. I thought the base was coming through quite strongly in this one. There were cantaloupe flavour as well, yes, but that was mostly in the aftertaste. I couldn’t seem to locate any cream anywhere.

I was a little disappointed by this one, but I think it’s because I didn’t care for the base tea and it was coming through a little too strongly for me.

This is a very pretty tea! I got some of this from Azzrian. Thanks so much! I think I got some for Kittenna as well, but this particular cup was brewed from Azzrian’s sample. :) I cold brewed this for about 4 hours. The flavor is light and fresh. The cantaloupe more like a cross between cucumber and cantaloupe, which is fine. I think cucumber and cantaloupe would make an awesome smoothie. There’s also this rich creamy flavor. Like some sort of dessert-y vanilla cream sauce. It’s wonderful with the fresh cantaloupe flavor! Very tasty tea. I can see why the folks here on Steepster are so in love with this. :)

Also, I can’t help but mentally compare this with 52teas’ Cantaloupe Bai Mu Dan. I think Frank’s version lacks that creamy element and his melon is more robustly flavored. His white base is also a bit chocolatey, which I think is heavenly, since chocolate and fruit are a match made in heaven.

I think I might just like 52teas’ version a little bit more. This version, however, is much more available so I guess they are both evenly awesome in the end. :)

My only other experience with a melon tea (by a different company) reminded me of cheap homemade wine made of melons (ew, can you imagine that?) so I was a little intimidated about trying the cantaloupe and cream.

This was a definite pleasant surprise. The cantaloupe is light, refreshing and tastes very natural. The “cream” element just reminds me of a light and freshly baked pastry. The white tea is in the background providing just a touch of sweetness. I didn’t find it necessary to add any sugar to this, felt like it was perfect just as it was. A great afternoon or evening blend. I can’t help but wonder what this would be like iced because it just screams “summer!” to me.

I am currently on the tweleve step program to combat melon addiction. The first step is admitting you don’t need three cantaloupe and a honeydew per pound of body weight. The second step is Butiki ’s Cantaloupe and Cream.

This is absoultely the most real and natural flavored tea I’ve had. The next closest thing to real melon and cream. But that’s not vegan friendly.
It starts off oddly more honeydew than cataloupe but the honeydew disappears after four steeps. The mouthfeel is juicy like real cantaloupe and the tea base provides the perfect honey toned background. This tea can only be improved by sharing with one’s pet lizard.

So excited for this tea!! After so many raving reviews, I was concerned that it would let me down. I was curious about the creamy notes everyone was talking about. So here we go!

Colour: smooth light yellow

Aroma: amazingly creamy and pure cantaloupe

Taste: Wow! This is delicious. So creamy and sweet cantaloupe. A full mouth feel. This is so silky and smooth, I felt full after I drank it like I had just had a huge bowl of fresh cantaloupe. I am not sure if I have ever had such a creamy tea. This certainly does not let me down, it deserves raving reviews!

2nd steep: 90degrees, 4minutes, less creamy and more melon, still delicious!

I put the leaves in a mug to cold brew, I will see how that goes tomorrow!

I am returning to Steepster today with the promise of a restful warm and sunny day… I’m writing this review in my backyard and the only sounds surrounding me are those of the frogs in the pond, the birds and the wind…nearly p-e-r-f-e-c-t-i-o-n on earth, exactly what I need!

This day off is well overdue… I’ve been taking care of lots of people but myself lately… Don’t get me wrong, I am not complaining, a time will come when I’ll be the one needing the care… But it does feel good to rest a little. My dad came out of the hospital after 5 weeks, and things are finally looking better for him :)

I’ve received many samples from Bonnie over a week ago and not trying them to this day was a torture! Out of respect, I wanted to keep them for a relaxed day like today to really appreciate them :)

I knew I would love this one… The dry tea looks like a VAN GOGH bouquet, so pretty and yellow! And the aroma is to die for, sweet and intoxicating!

The flavored teas I enjoy the most are of this type, very natural feel in the flavoring. The melon taste is clean and subtle, but it’s really there. I also appreciate the fact that the Bai Mu Dan is not overshadowed by the other flavors, I can still identify it and it makes this blend very delicate.

I can only imagine what this would taste like iced!

I’ve been kind of depressed lately, so I’ve kept to myself not wanting to be a burden to anybody ( there are much bigger problems surrounding me at the moment )

But today is a happy day and this tea really made my morning bright and sunny, I am glad I can share this with the Steepster community :)

I’ve been waiting for a perfect time to snuggle into this tea and I’ve (obviously) found it!
1.5 tsp, 180F, 3 minutes…Delicious creamy cantaloupe. That is exactly what this tea tastes like. I bet this would be super amazing iced too. I’m so happy I got to try this tea!
In all honesty, it’s an amazing tea, though I’m not sure warm cantaloupe is my cuppa. I am thoroughly impressed with the flavours of this tea that’s for sure.

Oh this is so good, but really why am I surprised? Every tea I’ve ordered from Butiki has exceeded my expectations.

Once I let it cool a little it really tastes like cool cantelope with a touch of cream. It’s not really “cool” because the tea is warm but it still tricks my mind and makes me think THIS IS SO REFRESHING.

I’m happy I gave this a shot because for some reason I wasn’t entirely sold on it by the name. My brain just does that sometimes.

I’m certain this would be remarkable iced too.

Oh, and this is a tea that I plan to re-steep and re-steep again. I don’t want to waste anything.

As it steeps it smells kind of sensual and sexy! I want this in a perfume or candle or something. And the flavor is so juicy! I’ve been thoroughly impressed with both Butiki’s tea bases and flavorings. I’ve been through quite a few bad experiences with artificial melon flavors/scents. This and Republic of Teas Honeydew have been the best melon flavors I’ve encountered.
The cream seems to be more prominent in the scent while steeping, which I really enjoyed. Tea is an experience to me. Inhaling, sipping and the aftertaste. And you can tell Butiki creates their teas for the complete experience. I enjoy this with a pinch of sugar to really bring out that sweet juicy melon flavor.

This has been my favorite Butiki Tea I’ve tried! I must say I’m a HUGE fan of melon! Honeydew, cantaloupe, watermelon..mmm! Like my obsession I had with Davids Teas Watermelon tea.. bought pounds and pounds of that stuff a year ago! And if I had the money I’d be doing the same with this tea! But I’ve got a baby on the way :) I’m already 21 weeks along, can’t believe how fast the pregnancy’s going! This Thursday I’ve got the second ultrasound to make sure it really is little Lily! But everything’s been good, she’s really starting to dance around in there! And I’m still craving lots of asian food! Made crab rangoons the other day for the first time and I was surprised how easy they were to make!

This tea was included with a recent order. Recent meaning weeks ago. What can I say white teas make me nervous. We tend to have a love hate relationship. I love them, they hate me. So I put off trying this one until today. I was checking out the top teas on Steepster and saw that this was one of them. Then I recalled I had a sample of it. One thing lead to another and now I’m sitting down to enjoy a cup.

The dry leaf smelled pretty sweet. As the tea steeped the creamy sweet smell started coming out of my cup. Even my husband Mr. Tea Is Flavored Water came over to take a sniff! The taste is very light, almost a buttery cream flavor. There is a slight sweet taste of cantaloupe too! I love that when one of Butiki Teas promises a flavor they deliver every time! I may have to order some of this in the future!!
