I’m liking this one a lot! The pear comes through really nicely – which I was afraid would not be the case, because it seems too often with pear teas that the pear just doesn’t come through strongly enough. Pear is such a delicate flavor as it is. But the pear comes through in a really good way with this tea. It is sweet, the green tea is brothy and slightly vegetative, and the plum comes through as sweet at first, with a tart-y finish that lingers into the aftertaste.

I really like this one.

Tea #23 from Another Traveling Tea Box

I’m mildly disappointed by this one.

The base is good! It’s brothy, mildly sweet, and vegetal. It’s my favorite part of this cup.

As for the flavorings, on one hand, I do get the pear flavor — it hits at the roof of my mouth right before I swallow — but on the other hand, it tastes like a not-quite-ripe pear. And I can’t find the plum at all. This is a tough combination to nail (pear and plum are tough flavors to get right without tasting like candy) but it still came up lacking with even that in mind.

Tea #28 from Another Traveling Tea Box

Geez, this one had marigold in it too, how did I manage to do this twice in a row? No wonder I don’t feel good today.

Anyway, I did’t think this came across as pear, or at least not any type of pear I’m familiar with. I’m a bit picky about pear teas because I love pear so much. The green base had a vegetal flavor to it and the flavorings added a bit of sweet and tart to the mix.

Got a sample of this and it’s pleasant, but mild. I might try extra leaf next time, but as it stands, the flavoring is lightly fruity and the base has a light hay note. I guess this could be plum and pear, but it might just as easily be a mild tropical fruit. A little sugar helps the flavor.
