Java Kertasarie Estate

Black Tea by Simpson & Vail

The medium-brown leaves brew to a greenish-brown leaf, with a flowery aroma. The amber cup of Java Kertasarie Estate is medium-bodied, brisker tasting than a Ceylon and has a flavorful infusion with a delightful oak cask aftertaste. Brew tea at 212ยบ – steep for 3 minutes.

Bold and lively! Nice woodsy note to it. It has a really rustic kind of flavor – strong and sturdy. Very full flavored.

This is a really bold Estate tea that would make a really good breakfast tea. I like it with a drizzle of honey to soften the edge, and it would also probably be quite nice with a drop of milk too.

Trying this one again. It is an enjoyable cup. Bold and brisk and somewhat woodsy. I am enjoying this with a Italian fig cookie (cuccidata), and it’s a really nice pairing. The tea brings out some of the delightful fruit notes in the cookie, while the sweetness of the cookie brings out hints of honey and flower in the tea.

YUM!

Finishing off the last of this sample. I’ve enjoyed it while it lasted!

Very brisk and a nice departure from the typical black tea.

This is a bold brew, indeed! I can certainly taste the oak flavors and black tea flavors. I would compare this to a ‘manly’ tasting tea, I suppose. Not Bad.

Ahhhhhh yeah! This hits the spot! See previous notes. BUT…I want others to try this lil gem, too! I will be passing this one on SOON :)

I started my day with this and a more lengthy review at SororiTEA Sisters!

I thought this had something of a licorice smell in the packet, with some grilled veggie there, too. To me it was quite smooth, and not very brisk. I think I should’ve brewed it for another minute. Not an exciting tea, but pleasant and easy to drink.
